My generation gets it.
From Andrew Sullivan on the latest poll:
'The other remarkable thing to me is that Bush's strongest ratings come among the younger generation. Even on Iraq, the 18 - 30 year olds give him a big vote of support - more than any other age group and the reverse of the over 60s. Bush has a 66 percent general approval rating among the young, compared to 51 percent among the old. How to explain it? My theory is that we're witnessing the emergence of the 9/11 generation - a demographic cohort bigger than the boomers whose defining experience was the terrorist attack of two years ago. They are also immune to the Vietnam fixation of the boomer editors and reporters of the mainstream media. South Park Republicans? We may have a genuine phenomenon here.'

Being from Generation X, I am happy the tide is shifting for the next generation. It is sad they may be named the 9/11 generation, with such a tragic founding. But remember, It is Gen-X who is maturing NOW, and we were the product of forced and often exaggerated diversity curriculums, excessive PC and ultimately massive liberal ideas founded on a guilt no less powerful than that of the strident religious ruling eras of history.
We are the ones coming into power. Gen-X will determine our future. Our passion as youths is being adjusted with reason for intelligent governing. Emotionally-charged causes are now seen in better light. Where many once hugged trees and cried for spotted owls, they now wonder why their friend's homes have been destroyed in California. It is no longer a time for knee-jerk politics. We have long-since disgarded the bong, given up the all-nighter and want our share. We have awakened.
