More Spain
Dawn Summers takes a different view (but you knew she would, didn't you) and says it's not appeasement here and calls it a 'victory for democracy' here.

Shortly after the bombings, you wrote: "Francisco Javier Ruperez predicted Spaniards will 'react very much the way the Americans did when they had that terrible suffering of theirs.' We reacted, on the most part, by reevaluating our way of life, deciding it was worth fighting for and then taking the fight to those who seek to to take it away. Spain has been beside us in this fight and we will, I'm sure, be with them now. "

They chose to crouch in a defensive position and hope no one notices them. I still feel for the Spanish people who died in those attacks. I just wish their countrymen didn't think that capitulating to terrorists was the wisest move to prevent further bloodshed.
