Karol thinks you're fake, hysterical and uninteresting.

I always knew there were few people more pretentious than Noam Chomsky but his references to himself in third person on his new blog is just a bit much: 'This blog will include brief comments on diverse topics of concern in our time. They will sometimes come from the ZNet sustainer forum system where Noam interacts through a forum of his own, sometimes from direct submissions, sometimes culled from mail and other outlets -- always from Noam Chomsky. What an absolute credit to the American right to see the abuse and lame attempts at humour nestling among the comments. Some of it makes RR look like Oscar Wilde in comparison. You tell me there are no hysterical right wingers ?

Urbane,

There are all kinds of people on both sides. I've never said otherwise. Chomsky represents some of the worst of the left, though, and he's got a huge, ignorant following. Is there such a person on the right, who is blindly followed despite being so wholly absurd and wrong (supporting Pol Pot springs to mind)? I can't think of anyone.

Dawn thinks Karol exhales too loudly.

Pat Robertson. The guy is increasingly out there. God will drop an asteroid on Orlando for allowing a gay pride parade. God told him Bush will win in a blow out. God told him Christians are not being persecuted in China, never mind his financial holdings. And 9/11 was a punishment for Americans in general and New Yorkers in particular for the sins of sex, feminism and sodomy.

Yet for all this and despite the defection of Ralph Reed and challenges by the likes of Dobson and Bauer, Robertson remains one of the most prominent and powerful evangelical leaders. His ratings and finances remain very strong. I suspect sadly he has more claims to political power then Chomsky does. While Robertson may not be a factor with neo cons and their armies of think tanks and foundations or with the Republicans in New York City (all 26 of them), he still sadly is a factor in a lot of other places.
