Love him.

Maybe I'm just feeling mushy today, but this story, noted by Drudge, kind of made me tear up.

Me too. I don't love everything about him, but the one thing I can say about W is that I don't doubt his sincerity.
Not to wreck a precious moment with politics, and you probably already saw the poll, but it seems most people in my age bracket feel the same way -- liberal college students who say there's no way they'd vote for Bush are still saying that if they had to have one candidate for a housemate, they'd definitely pick Bush.
Comes down to this: he's the "real deal," as Mr. Faulkner put it. I'd like to think that still means something around here.
Posted by: candace at May 6, 2004 02:18 PMSometimes, I get so wrapped up in the election for the President of the United States of America that I forget about exactly who we're putting in office: a human being.
That said, we should put in the most human of beings in our presidency because of who we are, regardless of what kind of weakness the human being may have in governance.
Posted by: Charles Hammond Jr. at May 6, 2004 02:40 PMMe too, Karol. Even when I disagree with him, this photo shows what I like about him. It's a beautiful photo.
Posted by: Bonnie at May 6, 2004 03:24 PMIs Shrub going for the NAMBLA vote now?
Posted by: Dung at May 6, 2004 03:48 PMUh, that's a girl. You don't even know what NAMBLA stands for, do you?
Posted by: Karol at May 6, 2004 03:55 PMThe troll was appropriately named, though....
Posted by: Mark Poling at May 6, 2004 04:44 PMYou know when I first glanced at the photo---I didn't realize that was Dubya. & a sweet story. I got a little misty.
Posted by: Vanessa at May 6, 2004 04:45 PMHow many days before Atrios or Daily Kos posts that this girl is a fake and this photo is doctored?
Posted by: Karol at May 6, 2004 04:51 PMI confess. This touched me also. (Though the voice in the crowd angle feels staged, Bush's reaction seems sincere and very moving.)
