Boxes.

Is everybody in the world just walking around feeling like they don't 'fit in'? Or, do most people feel 'normal' and honestly believe that they are? Jessica has a great post today about not fitting into society's boxes. The major thing in my life that throws people off from their preconceived ideas about me are my politics. People just can't believe I'm serious when I say I like Bush and that I'm a Republican. It's funny that there exists a belief that being liberal is 'fighting the system' and rebelling when really it takes so much more guts to be young and conservative. That's right, I'm a rebel. :-)

rebel, eh? That sounds radical to me, I'm going to have to report this behavior to Homeland Security.

You're a conservative by New York standards, Karol. I think you'd be a moderate Republican in real America.

To be liberal in a major city is to be reactionary, stick-in-the mud, conforming, boring, old-before-your-time follower.

To be a conservative is to be new, fresh, exciting, interesting, challenging, young-at-heart rebel.

That is why the majority of 18-30 year-olds are conservative.

Being a Republican in New York is being a rebel? Wow, think about being a Republican in Paris!
