This is awesome. We can make a fortune off this. It looks to me like a $600 bet on David Vitter in Louisiana will be worth $1,000 when he wins -- but I can't find the runoff rules.

Be careful with that idea, Mike. Vitter is the lone Republican in an open race full of Democrats. He is leading the pack only because conservatives are united behind one man.

They run things differently down on the Bayou. Because the general election will have several candidates, it is almost certain that there will be a run-off in early December (Cajun-style). Once the Dems pick their candidate, then it will be a tough race for Vitter to win. No doubt, he will be a great candidate, but a Vitter Victory is no slam dunk. Plus, Louisiana hasn't elected a GOP senator since Reconstruction.

However, I think "shorting" Carson at 40 in Oklahoma is a good bet. A riskier one is "shorting" Daschle at 66.
