Yes, polls should not be trusted
'In a head-to-head matchup, Bush led Kerry 50%-47% among likely voters, while Kerry led Bush 48%-47% among registered voters.'
So, I like Kerry better if I were to vote, which I probably won't.
In other news: 'Bush's favorable rating of 54% was his highest since April. By contrast, Kerry's 52% was his lowest since January. Bush dominated on personal traits such as "honest and trustworthy" and "stands up for what he believes in." But Kerry continued to lead Bush when people were asked who would better handle taxes, education, Medicare and the economy.'
Could it be that most Americans don't believe Bush is Hitler and/or a liar?

Agreed, the majority does not buy the liar/Hitler thing.
But I fear the liar thing causes too many people to think, "But he probably still did not handle this correctly, maybe we need to try someone else."
This is where the Bush supporters get so frustrated: we want Bush to brag, to find a way to manage the high-road thing but not lose in the process.
Posted by: michael parker at August 27, 2004 11:41 AMThere is a big difference between being a liar and being Hitler. I think very few people consider Bush to be a Hitler. But quite a lot think he has been dishonest.
Posted by: Dan at August 27, 2004 01:14 PMI think what you're seeing in those poll results is that the Bush machine has been most effective in pushing vague messages about Bush's "character", despite evidence to the contrary, through its propaganda machine, while it is having a harder time getting people to buy specific untruths, or to ignore the realities that they experience every day.

Rick, will you ever grow up, my boy? Who is showing no character - somebody who's been consistent, or who's changed his mind on each and every issue? And since you're bringing up the usual propaganda machine bullshit - Bush more than anybody has been a target of character assassination. Kerry is only tasting a small dose of his own medicine.
I hope you lefties enjoy your own crap. Then maybe the adult people of this country will be nice enough to change your diapers.
Ivan,
Hitler was consistant to the end. He, like Bush, used planned scare tactics. This Republican ran machine has systematically robbed the US treasury
via of convincing everyone that privatizing is a benefit. These privatizations don't make our society stronger, it only feeds the elite and rich tax payers money.A good example is the now privatized military that has created much of the problems in Iraq, it is uncontrolled, undisciplined farce with no bid contracts, most of which has gone to double dipping republican neoconservative companies.
Now they want to privatize social security. They will take a great percentage off the top to manage it with more republicans. The privatized healthcare is no more than get as little for the buck, while republicans take millions in profits.
This sort of government is just like the old U.S.S.R., the elite control all money and and enslave the society.
Bush lies daily, about everything, to mask this with religion and honesty is merely lying to one's self.
this administration has screwed the whole war on terror up and it has cost this nation 1100 plus lives, another 4000 plus lives destroyed with all future dreams gone, they are without legs, arms, eyesight, and heads blown away. There are thousands that will return with mental problems. This does not take into account of the destruction of a society for oil. Republicans are about money and power and more money and power, they have little thoughts to a society ran by the people and for the people, they will lie fabricate, and steal our country blind.
