Christian hating is a-ok

The anti-convention is beginning to pick up steam. I went to Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn for the "March For Women’s Lives" sponsored by Planned Parenthood. It basically started like pretty much everything else of this type, with some speeches and music. This part was mostly inoffensive except for one of the chants, which went "racist sexist anti-gay! Born again Christians GO AWAYYYYYYYYY!!!"

Somehow I don't think it would have been all right if they'd chanted for Muslims to get out of town.

Jews would have been fine, though.

I swear, it's as if they'd shrivel up and die if they didn't have Christians to rail against. Roe vs Wade isn't going anywhere. I pray we can say the same thing for Judeo-Christian values.

I realize this has been hammered into the ground, but I must repeat: Christians are the intolerant ones? Oh, right--because of all those catchy rhyming bits in our liturgies in which we tell homosexuals and women and non-whites to...um...go back where they came from. Funny...I must always doze off during those parts.

Last I checked, we don't even have any anti-Planned Parenthood doggerel!

But never mind that. Christians oppose Choice. Also Progress. Could you ask for more damning evidence?

And where, exactly, are we supposed to "go away" to? Internment camps, perhaps? Or are we to be deported? I suppose either is a reasonable solution. I will accept whatever fate those Lovers of Liberty and Tolerance decree is appropriate for...my kind.

I heard a quote from one of them saying she came from a long line of women victimized by anti-abortion laws. I suppose she could make reparations for it by blowing her brains out...but when in doubt, blame the evil Christian fundamentalists, as opposed to embracing the bizarre notion of personal responsibility.

Jeff, they have Sharpton to get the Jews out of town... out of Harlem, anyway.
