I mean, seriously.
How many times can McCain mention his 'friends in the Democratic party.' Who was his counterpart at the Democratic National Convention, noting how the Republicans also want what is best for the country and mentioning their friends in the Republican party?

Posted by: Dawn Summers at August 30, 2004 10:27 PMre: "friends in the Democratic party": that's the POINT. the reps are being gracious and "uniting".
Posted by: goo at August 30, 2004 10:39 PMTruly, truly bad taste. Astonishing. Flag waving over 9/11 victims. This will absolutely backfire on old Bush. Guaranteed.
Posted by: Matt at August 30, 2004 10:40 PMMatt:
At least the Republicans are remembering and honoring the victims of 9/11.
The Democrats at their convention pretended that 9/11 never happened.
Posted by: Jake at August 30, 2004 10:52 PMGet real...the GOP is no friend of Americans, let alone Democrats. Funny--anybody on this blog want to see the photo of Rummy shaking hands with Saddam??? HELL-O! Bush One had the chance to wipe out Saddam. HE DID NOT. And if you clowns travel to our coalition of the willing partners in England and Ireland, the people HATE this president. That takes a lot of skill, to destroy the Atlantic Alliance. No one believes this crap on TV.
Posted by: john at August 30, 2004 10:52 PMPerfect--thanks Rudy for reminding us that this president NEVER made anti-terrorism a priority. "We were living with an unrealistic view of the world???" Clinton attacked Al Qeada. Bush droppped the peace process in the Middle East when he came to power. Oh this is GOOD--Rudy is fudging the dates on Bush's actions, skipping over everything that preceeded 9/11. People know the truth. "Rock Solid???" More $ per capita went to Wyoming than NYC! Cutbacks in airport inspectors. NO sufficient port inspections.
Posted by: john at August 30, 2004 10:58 PMbahahhaha! as if 3000 people is worth all this death and the crushing of our civil liberties. face it, 911 was bush's fault and our fault for being so greedy and uneviromental and foucsed on our freedom and not having compassion for others more poor. read noam chomksy, (if you can read facsits)
this is so going to sink bush. nobody gives a shit about mccain or giliani, meanwhile michael moore and jimmy carter are real heros.

Posted by: Rob_NC at August 30, 2004 11:27 PMJake,
"Remembering and honoring" could be personal and private things. What the Republicans are doing is USING 9/11 to whip up their base. Class? Nah. Sick, really. And no honor at all to the people who died. Staged sentimentality -- "Amazing Grace" in primtetime?! Tacky. Manipulative and tacky.

What a shame they don't vote in the US. And why do we care what you pantywaists think?
Take care of your own defense if you want to be taken seriously.
Posted by: Oschisms at August 31, 2004 12:18 AMKerry is remembering the poor and trotting the poor and those who won't pay for health insurance out for political gain - WHY ARE THE DEMS EXPLOITING THE POOR AND THE LAZY!!!!
Posted by: Question at August 31, 2004 08:51 AMYeah Mutt, it's terrible taste and classless to let wives and families honor their loved ones and humanize them as the heros they were. You wouldn't know class if it bit you on your enormous ass or tiny dick.
So why don't you take your hippie bullshit elsewhere you clueless Islam-goat-fucking, fucktard, dhimmiwit, michael-moore butcrack-licking, jizzguzzling, kerry-felching, crack-whore-chimp, EUnuch bitchslut.
Posted by: Radical Redneck at August 31, 2004 09:58 AMI want to know how Michael Moore got in there!
I want to know how the structure withstood him inside it. They must have kept him in the room the elephants hang when the circus is in town.
Posted by: Radical Redneck at August 31, 2004 10:01 AMWho was his counterpart at the Democratic National Convention?
Barak Obama, that's who!
"Yet even as we speak, there are those who are preparing to divide us, the spin masters and negative ad peddlers who embrace the politics of anything goes. Well, I say to them tonight, there’s not a liberal America and a conservative America—there’s the United States of America. There’s not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there’s the United States of America. The pundits like to slice-and-dice our country into Red States and Blue States; Red States for Republicans, Blue States for Democrats. But I’ve got news for them, too. We worship an awesome God in the Blue States, and we don’t like federal agents poking around our libraries in the Red States. We coach Little League in the Blue States and have gay friends in the Red States. There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq and patriots who supported it. We are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the stars and stripes, all of us defending the United States of America."
Perhaps if you spent less time gnashing your teeth and rending your clothing over Michael Moore and more time studying the issues that face us in this election, you'd know that.
Posted by: Don Myers at August 31, 2004 12:29 PMBTW, why don't you all take a moment at the convention---it doesn't have to be a big production number, just 30 seconds or a minute in prime time---to apologize to America for the lunatic y'all found under some rock to run against Barack Obama?

Posted by: patriotic democrat at August 31, 2004 12:34 PMIsn't the writing ability of the "patriotic democrat" simply amazing. The ability to use massive amounts of punctuation and the inability to use an aprostrophy at the same time. And imagine accomplishing that from a keyboard with no shift key. And my goodness, I just noticed, not a single dangling participle.
Not a single rational thought either but isn't that what we have become accustomed to from that side of the aisle?
Go patriotic democrat back to the nether regions, your have impressed us with your intellect and ability beyond anything that you might imagine.
Posted by: Roy at August 31, 2004 05:16 PMGee Don, brilliant how you quote someone to tell US that there's one not two Americas WHEN YOUR JACKASS CANDIDATES ARE RUNNING ON THAT EXACT PLATFORM (TWO AMERICAS, ONE WHITE AND RICH; THE OTHER NOT *Yawn*).
Posted by: Radical Redneck at September 1, 2004 12:59 AMI don't mean to get off on a rant. but here's a thought, if you don't have anything to nice to say, don't say anything at all. First of all George W. Bush isand always has been a terrible leader. We all no it, and it's really not worth arguing about. Secondly, John Kerry is about the biggest dildo that the democratic party ever ran. Personally, I think it all boils down to which party has the better v.p. candidate. Edwards Vs. Cheney, I would pay to see that blood match on pay per view. I may be way off base, but which ever candidate wins the race shouldn't feel to proud because it's like coming in first place in the special olympics.
Posted by: ranting conservative democrat at September 2, 2004 08:35 PMFurthermore, I realize I have a couple typos in my note posted above. Sorry, I was in a hurry and didn't proofread. Don't insult my intelligence by posting some jackass comment about my choice of punctuation.
Posted by: ranting conservative democrat at September 2, 2004 08:39 PMHere, I amended my previous statement to appease all you individuals that are solely after cutting one another down based on mundane and otherwise inconsequential details.
