I link to several Bush blogs, and I'm a Democrat supporting Kerry. You have every right to link and delink people. I don't think you should get bent out of shape over strong opinions, though, unless you can't help it or control it.

Christian, I don't think Karol has any problems with strong opinions. She's linked to other Ds with very strong opinions--many of whom's blogs I've read myself. That type of thing, a picture of a dead woman with that type of slogan attached, is several steps beyond what can be termed "a strong opinion".

Of course, by making a big deal out of it, you probably caused more people to go look at his sight than if you had just left him there or quietly delinked him.

Is that counter to your reasons for delinking?

Look, I count one of the biggest leftist wackos as one of my best friends, it's not opinions I disagree with that I can't take. This guy said that if you vote for Bush, you're a racist. HELLO, I'm voting for Bush. And, I won't stand being called a racist. Well, by anyone other than the aforementioned wacko leftist best friend.

Also, I don't feel right quietly removing someone. I mean, if you were to visit someone's site and they've removed you, wouldn't you want to know why?

Christian, the item in question wasn't a strong opinion. It was agitprop, a lie intended to inflame. It was disingenuous and disgraceful.

We live in a country, thankfully, where everybody enjoys freedom of speech. But that doesn't change the fact that there's a right and a wrong way to go about it. Disagreeing on policy is right. Spewing hateful propaganda is wrong.

And as to the "you've just given him more traffic" question, crap like the should be seen by as many people as possible. The sooner it's dragged out into the harsh light of day, the sooner it will be seen for what it is: vile calumny intended to undermine reasoned debate.

Of course you can link or unlink me at will---it is your blog. But while you condemn me for being over the top, you continue to work for a party that is blatantly racist, anti-gay, anti-women, and anti-equal rights for all Americans.

Completely concur with your decision to publically out the racist-misogynist that runs that site. I've heard comments about how out of mainstream the extreme left has gotten but had not seen anything as bad as that goof. Worst of it is there are probably some people out there dumb enough to fall for his BS.
