Get to know Dorian Davis.
Though I strongly suspect that it's going to set Von Bek off about the GPAs of Jackson, Lincoln and Truman, y'all should read Dorian Davis's great piece on the aftermath of the debates. And really, you should be reading his whole site, he's got an interesting 'voice'.

To steal from Lloyd Bentsen, I know all about Jackson, Lincoln and Harry Truman. George W. Bush is not fit to be mentioned in the same breath as any of them which makes him no different than any president of the last 40 years save Reagan (and even the Gipper does not comapre to any of those three). Truman, Lincoln and Jackson were all self made men. If this was George W. Smith, he would not be anywhere near the White House. Yes, he has an MBA but he was not really a success in the business world during his oil days. His success with the Rangers and even in the Texas statehouse came through Poppy's connections and his name. George W. Bush is a mockery of the American Dream despite all the crap coming from those who donated their hearts, minds, souls and spines to the Republcian Party of how out of touch and elitist John Kerry is.
I do not think you need to be a self made man to be a great or even a good president; the Roosevelts and JFK come to mind. But they were all politically tough, having risen in the ranks on their own abilites.
I think all of the above mentioned presidents would not be in the dog fight that the current president is in. I am very curious to see how this all plays out.
