This should get some press: Candidate Brand association study. This is insightful and could have an impact. It already dispells some conventional wisdom about Republicans = wealthy, corporate, racist, elite, upper class.

DeWaun,

Um... The study doesn't dispell conventional wisdom, it measures it. Participants were asked to associate brands with candidates ad hoc. Hence, they drew on their conventional wisdom and produced the given results.

If anything, I guess you can say it dispells the "conventional wisdom" of the people who were behind the curve, by articulating the "conventional wisdom" of most everybody else.

According to this, most people associate Bud Light and Wal-Mart with Bush, and associate Starbuck's and Target with Kerry. Did that really surprise you? If it did, then you're just behind the curve (no offense, but that's what the study shows).

Amish for Bush can make a difference. They usually stay out of elections but Bush team made major push for their vote - and you know that they aren't being polled. :-)

There are actually more Amish in Ohio than Pennsylvania.
