In addition to 'a dollar short'

leftmyheart.gif

Maybe its because I practically memorized 'Catcher in the Rye' when I was in my teens, but the thing that irks me like no other is phoniness. And, there is nothing faker than Valentine's Day. You single people think that we coupled people have something over on you on Valentine's Day. Not so. There is so much more pressure on couples to perform on Valentine's Day than there is on single people. So, to show I don't fake the funk, I spent last night like any other night, doing what I would've been doing on any other random Monday. Ended up going out for a drink with a friend and then a short drive through the Park to see 'The Gates'. Peter and I didn't exchange gifts or cards, just the same happy glances we always do.

I actually like the morning after V-day the best.

There is nothing better than lounging around my apartment in my undies eating dark chocolate truffles for breakfast.

coffee, dark chocolate, Matt Lauer, and the sunshine (luv luv luv the unseasonable weather today)is all I need. Well, not all I need but I here you're allowed to do that on other days besides Valentine's day.

I think that most men, single or not, do not feel that "coupled people have something over on" anyone.

Although I'm single now, I always thought that my single friends were the luckiest bastids alive come February 14th.

Wow sour grapes. My wife and enjoyed yesterday. I sent her flowers, she gushed and we had a wonderful evening. I agree that many couples perform the rituals because they have too or they feel obligated. But when you really mean it and are thoughtful its worth it in my book.

Well, Karol, if you have love, enjoy it every day.

"Every day, will be like a holiday, when my baby, when my baby, comes home..."

Truth to tell, I didn't wear red either. I don't much these days. But I did buy my companion the kind of thing she likes, and I did enjoy having a day that was an excuse to do it.
