Pope's Final Farewell (by guest blogger Dawn Summers)
Until today I remained mostly immune from the mass hysteria surrounding the Pope's death. I found the media's flash screen updates leading up to his death quite draining, if not wholly inappropriate (The Pope's left leg has given way, reports have come through that his right lung no longer functions, special bulletin: his breathing is shallow; repeat, the Pope's breathing is shallow!!!!!)
I was eyeball deep in tapes of the last Knight Rider marathon by the time he died because live television had become unwatchable.
But I woke up at 4 this morning, to watch the burial mass and remember the man and leader that he was -- not so much for the world, but for my church and for me in particular.
The image of his bare coffin topped with the open scripture is one I will carry for a long time, as surely as I remember the first time the Pope touched my life.
Rest In Peace, Pope John Paul II

I thought Karol was writing this post until I read
"I was eyeball deep in tapes of the last Knight Rider marathon"
That didn't sound like Karol....oh but it does sound like Dawn S :)
Nice post, but not as nice as the one on your site. That was beautiful.
