Shockingly, it seems I'm a Centrist in Britain (on crime and 'internationalism', anyway)

I took an interesting quiz on British politics (I guess I miss the campaign season because it's been my favorite subject for the last few days). These were my results:

Britpolitics.bmp

This graph shows where your views place you by comparison with the rest of the population. Your horizontal position is affected by your views on crime and punishment and internationalism, and your vertical position by your views on the economy and (among other things) military intervention overseas.

Each coloured dot on the graph shows the position of a single voter for one of the major parties as identified from our opinion poll. Overall, the distribution of those dots shows how the views of the British public as a whole are arranged, and how people of different views vote.

Crime and punishment, internationalism
Your position on this axis is 1.0
You are likely to be centrist.

Economics, etc
Your position on this axis is 5.7
You are likely to be very free-market and pro-war.

Britpolitics2.bmp

Of women...

42.8% are significantly to your left
37.7% have views about the same as yours
19.5% are significantly to your right

Of men...

46.6% are significantly to your left
30.8% have views about the same as yours
22.6% are significantly to your right

But then on Economics and War, it seems I could not possibly be more extreme:

Britpolitics3.bmp

Of women...

100.0% are significantly to your left
0.0% have views about the same as yours
0.0% are significantly to your right
Of men...

99.1% are significantly to your left
0.9% have views about the same as yours
0.0% are significantly to your right

100%!!!!! One hundred percent of British women are to my left according to this quiz. I'm really curious about those .9% of British men who are to my right. I think it's probably the Samizdata team.

Via Cacique, who is to the left of me.

Hmmm You appear to be slightly to the right of me on the third page

Quit being a damn centrist, Karol.

So, are you pro- or anti-Beckham?

Am also a centrist on economics but am an internationalist and rehabilitationist on crime and internationalism.

Position on axis 1. -3.9
Position on axis 2. -0.1

I don't think I'd fit in that well with the Brits. Even the Conservatives are to the left of me. And I consider myself in the "centre."
Buut what are you going to do. Here's my results. I'm a little more right than you, karol. ;)

My results were almost the same Karol, except on economics 99.6% of men were to my left (100% of women), but I came out as a centrist too.

I consider myself a centrist, or maybe slightly right of centre. On the economic axis:

Compared to the whole population...

* 96.8% are significantly to your left
* 2.9% have views about the same as yours
* 0.4% are significantly to your right

And that's on a good day. If I was feeling grouchy, it probably would have come out more like your 100%.

If that really represents the opinions of most Britons, the country is doomed.

I've just decoded the secret message.

The right/left axis matches the political right/left.

The up/down axis is a smart/stupid axis. Or in extreme cases, a sane/crazy axis.

Heh...that was fun...it's good to be Very Free Market and Pro-War...
