Eat!
Via Downtown Lad, I found this list of the top 50 things every foodie should do. I'm a really picky eater and therefore not a 'foodie' but the list is really interesting and I've only done three of the things on it:
28) Dine at Jean Georges in New York (took an ex-boyfriend there for dinner and ordered the tasting menu. Five excrutiating hours later, we were finally done with dinner)
40) Bake a loaf of bread (when I lived on a commune)
48) Milk a cow (on a class trip)

You've never had a hot dog at Nathan's?

Posted by: Karol at May 18, 2005 03:37 PMThe "pick your own mushrooms" item with the "just make sure you know what you're doing" afterthought is grossly irresponsible. The vast majority of mushrooms that you find growing wild in North America are poisonous to one degree or another. Maybe over on the other side of the pond they're walking around ankle-deep in porcinis, but here, it's amanitas under every fallen log.
I also take issue with their martini recipe. All true drunkards know that the way to make a proper dry martini is to have a tightly sealed bottle of vermouth in the room with you while you mix the drink.
(My bragging point? I've been to Doyle's. Had the barramundi. Delicious.)

My next attempt will be to make love in the vinyard...although those vines can be prickly. But i might just have to settle for a hotdog on Coney Island. Closer and cheaper.
I've been to Doyle's too. I had the Barramundi as well. Amazing. As was the view.

And I don't even like salmon that much.
