Always has to be different

Well, someone hated Episode III.

Can't spell "Anakin." Conclusion: Can't even be bothered to read the press kit everybody got in the mail.

I don't mean to be petty, but seriously, it takes like two minutes to skim the PR stuff. Be all cynical and "Ain't nobody goan tell me what to think" or whatever if you want, but at least it prevents you from doing embarrassing things like misspelling names.

Also, you know, some thought would have been okay. But hey. Whatever. It's a free blogosphere.

(I leave this comment here rather than on Ace's site because I love and adore Karol. Ace … less so lately, unfortunately.)

Lucas makes kids' movies, that adults can watch. The first 3 were better at it.

I haven't been able to get past JJB and child Anakin yet. When I heard that there was a love story bit in this one, I reached for the DVD manual to figure a way to block it. Maybe SAP? Sounds right.

Lucas knows what a good story should look like. Apparently he also had an idea what the opening "A Long Time Ago..." would look like in 9 hours of movie.

Lucas pushes the edge of special effects a bit further back everytime he makes something. He really does like to go big or go home. He also is a big believer in blanket marketing - he licenses everything from bedsheets to the Darth Vader Closet Organizer (tm). Shouldn't let a little movie get in the way of merchandising.

Wow. For a guy who's greatest successes involve making coffee, I have a big mouth.

And in case Mr. Lucas is reading alarmingnews (you know you are George), sometimes there is a good and evil. Digging details can muddy the issue (everyone does bad things, and good things, at some point) but it doesn't change the essentials. Our differences with our former allies (for those who wish to bring it up) results from our agendas being different now. They want us to die, we don't wanna (I am using the collective "we" even though I am Canadian - I wanted in on the missile shield, honest. A free seat at the head table, and we turned it down?!). Sometimes the choices between a disagreeable us and a disagreeable them is muddy. For example, no one leader of any of Canada's current parties remotely represents my view for Canada, but I had to pick one. Between my interesting American neighbours, and our whacko 5th cousins from MiddleEarth, I pick America. So should you. Hippy.

Disclaimer: I am biased as all hell. I like to play cards, date (sometimes different women), buy things and opine... I wouldn't be allowed to do all of these things whenever I felt like it anywhere in the ME. This I can not abide.
