The jig is up

Surfing around, I came across the AmericaBlog. 'Joe in DC' wonders why Democrats like Joe Biden and John Edwards criticize Howard Dean's wacky comments (like the one about Delay belonging in jail or how the Republicans don't make an honest living). 'Joe in DC' concludes that it's because they're running for president, and anyway, the Republicans are tricking them into speaking out: 'Seriously, the GOP must just sit back and laugh over how easy it is.'

Actually, we do laugh. We sit around and laugh our heads off over how the Democratic party chose Howard Dean, someone who comes off as angry and hyper (always a winning combination) at the best of times and just deranged at the rest, to be their leader. People actively left the Democratic party when it looked like Dean would be the nominee and despite spending a year and a ton of money in Iowa and New Hampshire, Dean didn't come near winning, thereby dispelling the theory that there exists a grassroots contingency somewhere just dying for him to lead. Yet, this bumbling doofus now heads the Dems. Haha. Hahahaha.

UPDATE: A must-read by Patrick Ruffini on the situation with Howard Dean.

Check Biden's and Edwards's comments more carefully, Karol. They don't say they disagree with Dean just that they think it's impolitic to say that stuff where it can be overheard.
