All Cindy all the time

There are 16 posts on the main Huffington Post site right now, and every single one of them is about protesting mom, Cindy Sheehan. And, of course, each one says the exact same thing. The idiot liberals on there are hoping that they can damage Bush politically with this grieving mother. Nothing is done or said unless it can hurt Bush. They really couldn't give two figs about Cindy Sheehan, it's all about their Bush obsession. And really, it's an illness. Whether it's Sarah Jones blabbering that 'George W. and his feckless flock of draft-dodging warhawks somehow wrested control of our country away from sane people', David Swanson urging people to go to Crawford to join Mrs. Sheehan because 'Crawford, Texas, is where the party is' and 'Going to Crawford will be fun', or Steve Cobble asking 'Lexington. Selma. Crawford?', they come off as total lunatics. They ignore the fact that this woman has already met the president and that she was of a completely different disposition then. She lost her son. I feel for her. But yelling at Bush and becoming a puppet for the left won't bring him back. And these jerks should stop using her for their dumbass political opportunities.

I know I should sit back and let the online leftist community make liberals as a whole look bad. Elections are easier to win when the other side seems so deranged. But their behavior offends me as an American and as a human. They're disgusting, tripping over themselves with glee at her protest and writing things like 'An arrest will be a disaster for Bush. A growing crowd through the month will be a disaster for Bush. His only way out -– given his refusal to meet with Cindy -– is to hope that people get tired and go away.' Their gross strategizing on the back of this woman with a dead son is a new low, even for people who make a lifestyle of hitting below the belt.

"Crawford is where the party is?" - that guy needs to be slapped.

Like hard in the head, right? Can you tell how my blood was boiling?

Sorry that you have such a low opinion of those blogging about Crawford, TX. But you're talking about people I know personally in Crawford. Please feel welcome to visit my blog.........for updates directly from those involved. We're just average Americans who have deep and sorrowful feelings about Cindy's grief and express our views about the war openly.

thanks for your time and patience.

by the way I don't normally post on right wing blogs that call left of center folks names, but Cindy is worth my post.

best wishes marie

Isn't this the strategy that Karl Rove has been using for the lst eight years?

Cindy has every right to protest the war in Iraq - she has lost her son to it. However, I don't think she should be using her son as a tool to protest. The rest of her family have already distanced herself from her and told her to knock it off, that she is being used as a tool by liberals.

Karol,

Deep breath, count to ten...

Exhale.

Yes, as messed up as Mrs. Sheehan is, most of America recognizes how disgusting the left is being by making this some kind of media circus.

If the left wants to make sure we get a few more Senators in November, I say "let 'em".

Just look away as it unfolds. That's what I'm doing.

Posted by: Sean at August 12, 2005 02:55 PM

Marie, I understand her sorrow but you have to see that she's being used. Other than publicity, what is being accomplished? Did people previously not know that war dead in Iraq had mothers? I mean, really. And if I were a liberal, I'd still be calling these people names. They're disgusting. And they're making liberals as a whole look bad.

Jack, blah blah Karl Rove, blah blah Halliburton, Chimp, Bush is stupid, blah blah. This is what leftism is like today: vacant, repeating catchphrases and sayings, no policies that resonate with the public and hence no power. You'd think you guys would rethink the mindless nonsense you spout to no avail, but no.

Sean, like I wrote, this is not political for me. Bush won his second term by the first majority since his father. I'm not worried about '06. I don't think we'll lose the House any time too soon. It's just that I think this is so gross that I need to call them out on it. A PR stunt is one thing, using a dead soldier and his destroyed mom for a PR stunt is another.

Wow, you weren't kidding about the Huffington Post "flooding the zone"... what a bizarre spectacle. Maybe this is what the Terri Schiavo case felt like for liberals. Although in that case, the effort was made to try to save a woman's life; here it's... to allow a mother to meet with President Bush a second time? Don't get it.

"A PR stunt is one thing, using a dead soldier and his destroyed mom for a PR stunt is another."

Yeah, they should only use live soldiers.

What I want to ask all these offended Right Wing Bush defenders is this:

Where was your outrage when the so-called "Right to Life" fanatics made a spectacle and a circus out of Terri Schiavo?

Yes, the Left certainly has its share of fanatics, but let's look at the damage wielded by both extremes. These days the Right always gets a free pass.

Karol by insulting the people that have joined Sheehan's protest you are insulting Sheehan
herself.
It doesn't sound like the Rightist gives a rats ass about the grieving Mom either. They just care about trashing war protestors, grieving mom included.

Posted by: PAUL at August 13, 2005 01:53 AM

Well, not quite all Cindy.

They are also busy lying about business news.

Posted by: W.C. Varones at August 13, 2005 11:26 AM

So, Sheehan is a grieving mother. I know other grieving mothers who oppose every thing Sheehan is spouting. Why must her needs come before theirs? Does the fact that Sheehan is a grieving mother mean she has the right to get everything she demands? If she wants my bank acct, must I hand it over to her now?

What about all the grieving mothers in Iraq? Don't they count? Or does only Sheehan count?

She wanted a meeting with the President, she got one. She demands to know why we are in Iraq, but when people explain it to her, she calls them liars. I am sick of her rudeness to the President and to me. If she wants to bash my beliefs then she better be prepared to get some bashing back.
The fact that her son re-enlisted tells me what I need to know about his beliefs.

Enough with her bullshit. She had her 15 minutes of fame. She is sounding less and less like a grieving mother and more and more like someone in search of a P.R. person.

Posted by: ll at August 13, 2005 02:19 PM

Hey Paul:

By insulting Bush and misrepresenting our purpose in being in Iraq, Sheehan and the protestors are insulting all the other grieving mothers who disagree and object to her lies, the people in the armed services currently serving in Iraq, and me.

It doesn't sound like the you or the Left gives a rat's ass about all the other grieving mothers. You just care about trashing Bush and the people who support his policies, the people in the armed services, all the other grieving mothers and the soldier's who sacrificied their lives for what they believed in.

Posted by: ll at August 13, 2005 02:32 PM

Hey ll,

Wow, you just discovered this revelation.
There is a pro-war crowd and an anti-war crowd. By having two opposing sides sometimes people will get insulted.
Thanks ll, that's alarming news!

Posted by: PAUL at August 13, 2005 09:57 PM

Whooooooosh! Another one misses Paul's head by a mile. lol!

Posted by: ll at August 13, 2005 11:26 PM

"Bush obsession."

Well, I suppose it's better to be obsessed with removing an incompetent, dangerous leader than obsessing on, say, Clinton's indescressions. You guys are such hypocrites it makes me sick.

Posted by: Dave at August 15, 2005 03:10 PM

I'll see your grieving mother and raise you two 9/11 widows, an Iraqi torture victim, and a limbless soldier.

Posted by: The Warden at August 15, 2005 03:52 PM

FYI,
We in California stand with Mrs. Sheehan and support her efforts to get an answer to the question of why we are in Iraq. Our State has the sad distinction of having the highest number of deaths and wounded soldiers of any other State, though it appears, sadly, that Ohio is giving us a run for the money.
As for the issue of bringing the troops home, I'd settle for redirecting them to Afghanistan and the hunt for Bin Ladin.
Finally, how come you Bush lovers still support this Administration? How come there is no accountability for the loss of billions of reconstruction money; bloating of the deficit; no exception for military families in the bankruptcy bill; reduction in military families' housing benefits; tax cuts in wartime?
It just defies logic.

Posted by: Laura Strand at August 15, 2005 04:16 PM

Well, then. If Laura can speak for California I guess I can go ahead and speak for all of Ohio by proclaiming that we in Ohio support President Bush and his efforts in the war on terror.

Of course, we haven't lost quite as many soldiers as has California, so I suppose I don't have quite as much moral stature as Laura on this issue.

Of course, I can always keep my fingers crossed. I mean that's what soldiers are for, right? To die in the name of bolstering my arguments.

Posted by: The Warden at August 15, 2005 05:53 PM

Actually, assclown, it's all about Bush's obsession with Saddam Hussein. You remember him, right? The mastermind behind 9/11, the one who tried to kill his Daddy, the one with the phantom WMD's and the al Qaeda ties?

I'm laughing myself hysterical watching you conservative blogging Michael Jackson dance puppets twitching in response to every move the GOP makes regarding everything, especially Cindy Sheehan, whom you ventriloquist dummies wouldn't be spending so much time yammering about if she didn't represent such a threat to you and your, ahem, noble cause.

Otherwise I assume you'd be smart enough to watch her 15 minutes of fame tick down, right? Riiiight.

Posted by: jurassicpork at August 15, 2005 06:03 PM

We in California stand with Mrs. Sheehan

No we don't.
