Nope, no publicity seeking here.
This grieving mom has been...accused of putting on a public circus, lambasted as a publicity seeking grandstander...
Yesterday was kind of a blur to me. From running around from interview to interview, to getting a visit from Viggo Mortensen, it was a whirlwind of activity. I have discovered that the White House press corps is always looking for something to do and someone to cover. We have been happy to oblige them. We had a press conference today with Gold Star Families for Peace and Military Families Speak Out members.
Update: Ken Wheaton writes on the Media's complicity in this circus.

What is the message the Media is sending to all those other mothers out there who lost sons but still support the war. I think the message is their feelings don't matter.
Also, Laura Ingraham pointed out a BLOCKBUSTER development on this story on her radio show today. Apparently Cindy Sheehan was on Keith Olbermann's show yesterday. She stated that she hopes Bush DOES NOT come out and talk to her because if he did then it would diffuse the whole issue. WOW!!!
I thought her whole reason for being there was to get a chance to talk to Bush, but apparently she does not want to talk with him, she wants the press.
