'They are so poor and so black'
Wolf Blitzer describing the Hurricane Katrina survivors

Just because New Orleans doesn't have all rich white people give no reason to say that comment. people come to this country to get away from racism and this is what they get in return. There are poor communities everywhere in the united states and there is no need for things like this. this is what makes me so mad, what is this about??? it DEFINENTLY should not be the issues we should be focusing on, they are PEOPLE just like everyone else and have feelings and pay taxes, they should be treated better than this.

When the left looks at people they only see the color of their skin.
When the conservatives looks at people they only see people.
Posted by: Jake at September 2, 2005 09:15 PMI'm trying to get out the word on the New York Young Republican Club's efforts to help those in New Orleans.
As you have no doubt seen, the people of New Orleans , as well as Mississippi , have experienced a tragedy of biblical proportions. The losses in life and property have made this one of the worst natural disasters in this country's history in over a century.
Our neighbors face the near-impossible task of rebuild their homes and their lives. Seeing the devastation reminds me of when New York was devastated by a national tragedy and left wondering what was to be done.
However, just as the nation stood with us in our time of need, so too we must stand with the people of New Orleans and Mississippi . Thus, I write today to humbly ask for your assistance.
The Club will be collecting money for the American Red Cross at its events for the next two months. As you know we do not charge for our meetings and our socials. This, however, is no admission charge - all I ask is that you give what you can. Bring cash or checks, made payable to the "American Red Cross," in any amount you can spare.
In addition, our special event, slated for September 21, 2005 at the Chelsea Pier on West 23rd street , will be a fundraiser dedicated to helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The entrance fee for this event ($25 for members, $30 for student non-members and $50 for regular non-members) is minimal and designed to be that way -- we are asking people to give an additional donation to the Red Cross at that event as well. In addition, the club will donate the net proceeds from that event.
We raised nearly $15,000 for the victims of last year's tsunami. It is my hope that we can collect at least twice that for the people of New Orleans and Mississippi , our fellow Americans who stood by us when tragedy came to our door.
New York recovered through the generosity of the nation. Please join me in repaying this debt and helping our neighbors.
Sincerely,
Dennis M. Cariello
President

It's sad. What's worse is what Blitzer did today with Elijah Cummings of MD on the Clinton News Netwrok. Blitzer needs to leave the US and go to Canada. He owes the US and apology! Moron. No wonder no one watches CNN.
Posted by: patd95 at September 3, 2005 01:15 AMHave any of you guys checked out the FX movie "OIL STORM"? If you haven't, go read about it here:
http://www.prweb.com/releases/2005/6/prweb248814.htm
Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath is following the script of the FX movie, which aired June 5, 2005. Thus, the globalist leadership continues its arrogant practice of telegraphing to the public what they are about to do, knowing that the vast majority of citizens worldwide will never get the connection. I must say, the "New Orleans Project" (I'll call it that) has been quite a success.
Create the chaos and then miraculously come up with the answer...you'll have people eating out of your hand! All the people have to do is be willing to give up their freedoms for "security" (did you see on the news a couple of black people all crying out together and repeatedly "help! help! help!" - egos, pride, self esteem forgotten, all broken down and reduced to the same level?)... the best way to introduce Martial Law to a folk that would otherwise under normal circumstances be very quick to plead the 4th and the 5th...not to mention the right to bear arms. Now those with guns are being painted as "domestic terrorists" (even those protecting their homes and valuables) and we all know that FEMA( or Homeland Sellout as I lovingly call it) has prearranged more than enough institutions and "assembly centres" ( or should we just call them concentration camps? For interesting reading, send me a mail and I'll send you an article...it talks about facilities big enough to hold specifically 21 million african americans! ) to lock up these "terrorists". The times when the Constitution wouldn't allow for unwarranted arrests, individual arrest for an indefinite period of time without trial or the right to a lawyer, entrance into your home without a warrant and such...those days are over. For the inhabitants of the affected State(s) those days are over now. Should this "small-scale" project succeed (a tried and true formula dating back to Nazi Germany) we can expect a coming police state to be the order of the day. Bush has sold out the American people. While all eyes were turned on the, in my opinion staged, Saddam capture and Bush and his admin. were being hailed as heroes and true patriots, he was silently busy signing away your constitutional rights behind your backs. Patriot Act II a.k.a H.R. 2417, Public Law 102-14 (innocently dubbed Education Day, USA and particularly a threat to fundamental Christians and Jews), and numerous Executive Orders which literally give Bush the authority of a monarch, are paving the way for a police state. I bet you the next thing that's coming is the disarmament of the people of New Orleans and after that succeeds, we'll discuss whether it wouldn't be in the best interests of the country if all people were forbidden the right to bear arms...after all, we've seen how those "terrorists" on TV shot at choppers and for years now we've had all those school shootings and sniper attacks...and we all know that the government really only has the nations best interests at heart ( uh huh...and a people without weapons can't defend itself against dictatorship). Watch New Orleans and pray for all, especially for the minorities...
I think this country has always forgotten about it's poor, whether black or white.
Posted by: Roselin Becker at September 6, 2005 10:54 PMYou are taking his statement all outta context. He probably wasn't paying attention to what he was saying. Lots of CNN reports just repeat what someone else just said without even thinking about it. The person before him said the people that are left are mainly poor and black. He probably didn't even realize he said it or how bad it sounded.
Posted by: Surbey at September 7, 2005 01:14 AMaverage yearly income in New Orleans:
white - $30,000 (already low)
black - $12,000 (pathetically low)
the poster Cabal is very correct in his information.
There are people in the Astrodome saying they witnessed the 17th St Levy *BEING EXPLODED* Yet, the press is being barred from the Astrodome... all except Fox News. These Tax Paying Citizens, now labeled 'refugees' are being treated like prisoners.
From Jacob Appelbaum, on location in the Astrodome:
10:23: Joel just got removed. Almost arrested. Fox News is down on the floor. I’m in dome, hiding in seats. They’re allowing some media on the floor, not others.
10:31 Just met members of the Polish press, they are being stopped from entering floor. Says this is like the former USSR.
10:57 Raw transcript of comments by NOLA evacuee Clara Barthelemy: “The 17th street levee was bombed by the Army Corps of Engineers to save the more valuable real estate in the city… to keep the French Quarter protected, the ninth ward was sacrificed… people are afraid to speak out… everyone who was near there heard the bombings… they bombed seven times. That’s why they didn’t fix the levees… 20 feet of water. Gators. People dying in water. They let the parishes go, not the city center. Tourist trap was saved over human life. A six year old girl was raped in here.. 9 year old boy killed. A man in the shower beaten. No hot food. No help for elderly.”
Another evacuee: “Over 20 rapes per night happening inside this place. They bring in national guard for media purposes. Bush wants us to stay here to raise his ratings. Some workers are stealing the good stuff, like shoes.”
11:16: Rough transcript of comments by NOLA evacuee, male: “We are treated like prisoners here. Placed under mandatory curfew. We are citizens!”
11:22 Now I’m speaking to someone else, another woman, who says some people report having witnessed “bomb sounds,” believe 17th street levee and others were blown up to manage water flow and protect more valuable portions of real estate.
Evacuee Dianne Stafford: “They blew the levee to save the city…” Saying a barge broke the levee. She is from St. Bernard Parish. “More expensive places were saved at the expense of the neighborhoods that aren’t as valuable… Rebuilding Bourbon Street matters more to the government… that’s what mattered to Governor Blanco…”
11:36 I’m speaking to a man who’s been wearing the exact same pair of 2XL stretch pants since the storm hit. Some clothing is available for evacuees, but he is a large man and can’t find anything available to fit his body. He’s a diabetic but has good medical care. This so depressing. Its so hard to not cry when you hear this shit. The very large and very old have little help.
11:59 CNN have no problem getting in. Nobody’s stopping them from accessing the floor, but other credentialed press who already have press badges are being stopped.
12:09 Evacuees I’m talking to are all telling me about rapes, murders, beatings which are taking place inside the Astrodome.
12:24 Man I’m speaking to, Danny Smith, says he cannot get housing because he has a felony. Aid workers found him a house but he is a felon, so they turned him away. FEMA has agreed to pay for his apartment, but he cannot get one. “Everyone has a felony here,” he says. He thinks that people are going to riot
12:29 Evacuee Irvin Skinner: We have a curfew. We’re being kept inside after 11pm. Forced to stay inside. They threw guns on everyone. Said ‘come inside or your out of here’. Shoved guns, pointed them at adults. I’m a grown man, I have rights. This is an instituion to us, it’s like a jail. I’m a middle class man with a home being trated like a criminal because I’m black. If we were white, we wouldn’t have this problem.”
“We are not here by choice.”
13:03 Harris County will not allow any radio station inside without a FEMA form even if operator has FCC permission. Austin Airwaves says trying to get form now, been waiting 2.5 days. No radio station inside the dome until that form is filled out.
