I love Bubba Crosby

Bubba Crosby hit his career first home run in his 72nd at bat, driving a 1-0 pitch from Eric DuBose over the right-field fenceNew York Yankees Bubba Crosby heads for home after hitting a walk off solo home run as Baltimore Orioles pitcher Eric DeBose walks off the field during the ninth inning at Yankee Stadium in New York, Monday, Sept. 19, 2005.

And just so no one thinks it's a recent love, I've adored him ever since he rounded the bases so fast he crashed into Jason Giambi at second (even if that did get him out, it still showed heart- and speed- that the Yankees were sorely lacking at the time) and then even more when he threw the the Tampa Bay pitcher off his game last week by stealing second. I think it's time for a Bubba t-shirt.

The Yankees have a star player named Bubba?

That ain't right.

Too funny... weren't we just discussing him and how we like him the other night? Now, what does Tino have to do to get you to dig him too?

Posted by: Ari at September 20, 2005 09:21 AM

And of course you like him, he's from TX ;)

Posted by: Ari at September 20, 2005 09:31 AM

Yankee lover.

Posted by: Nate at September 20, 2005 09:41 AM

He's seriously making me reconsider my once-immovable position that I would never date someone named Bubba.

Exceptions to every rule....

Posted by: Chad at September 20, 2005 09:45 AM

He is not star.

Posted by: Not Dawn Summers at September 20, 2005 11:25 AM

He sure was last night, darlin'!!!

Posted by: Ari at September 20, 2005 11:33 AM

You'd probably be the only one in town with a Bubba shirt, if they even make one.

That said, I always liked him too. Going into this season I thought he should've been the 4th outfielder all year.

Peter has a point - after the lovefest for Cano it's still hard as heck to get his shirt...

Posted by: Ari at September 20, 2005 02:41 PM

he's hot

Um, Bubba gives up a triple in the 2nd tonight (Tues) with a terrible outfield play. 2 runs scored.

Posted by: Scott of Slant Point at September 20, 2005 07:46 PM

OK, he took out their pitcher in the 3rd. Almost even.

Posted by: Scott of Slant Point at September 20, 2005 07:56 PM

sorry, 2nd inning. And Balatimore's coach was tossed.

I love Bubba. Ive liked him since the first time I saw him in pinstripes. Hes adorable and has a good heart. My friends call me Mrs. Richard Stephen Crosby. Im going to marry him!

Posted by: sol at October 11, 2005 10:25 AM

yes...i luv crosby too...he should be playing centerfield this year...

I love Bubba too! But then I'm biased. I went to high school with him in Houston. The baseball team's coach at the time was Chuck Knobloch's dad. We won the state championship that year, thanks largely to Bubba. And don't let the name fool you. He went to Rice University -- a very prestigious school for brainiacs.

I've been following him since the AAA days. Bubba is a diamond in the rough...so is Andy Phillips and Melky Cabrerra. They are like the 3 Musketeers...but different. If Torre would ever stop living in the past with the Veterans, and invest some well deserved faith and playing time in these guys...things would change.

Bubba Crosby has sacrificed and endured for this team time after time...just check out his stats if you think he's just another pretty face.

Oh...and I've seen the boy LIVE plenty of times, (Phillips too), and they gots themselves some hella pretty faces...

I love Bubba with all my heart and soul; I hear his name, and I scream it. Problem, kids? He's already married. I spent a lot of time shouting insults at the wife of his I never met or heard of.
