'Bout last night (You keep blogging the party, I'll keep bumping this post-new posts below this one)
The blogger party was the usual insanity, with tons of gossipy happenings that I'll leave to other people to cover, and lots of drinking.
I may post some kind of wrap-up but prefer to just link to anyone that has recaps (mostly because I'm afraid that I met so many people I'll inevitably forget some), so email me and let me know.
So far we've got:
**Weenie Enema- I thought E.E and her friends were so funny that I told Dawn Summers she had to go over and talk to them. However, this was E.E's take on our meeting 'that was as suitably awkward as I imagined it-- me acting batshit insane, her smiling politely.'
**Seldom Sober- The funny Seldom writes 'The fabulously metrosexual Joey came to be my wing man but he and Karol left early looking sensually conspiratorial.' 'Sensually conspiratorial' I'm not sure about but if by early he means when everybody, save a few hardcore stragglers who were getting cozy with members of the opposite sex, went home and if by 'with Joey' he means with Peter and houseguests Candace and Ginger, then you've got a totally accurate account. Actually, Joey was my salvation at the end of the night when things got surreal and everybody was kind of wasted. He was an oasis of normality on an otherwise far-out Eighth Avenue. If there's an account I want to read of the second part of last night (as Joey arrived when part 1 was winding down), it's definitely his. We love the Joey.
**Slantpoint doesn't have a recap yet but does have a post about it at 9:24am, which, if I had to guess, is about the time he came home.
**Blatherist has a nice write-up with links and details including a mention of the big blog celebrity in the house (Megan of JaneGalt.net. When I pointed her out to Dawn Summers, Dawn said 'why am I wasting my time talking to you when an Instapundit guest blogger is here?' Indeed.). Blatherist has a second post about the party up now, including a pic.
**Jill at Feministe has some pictures including me feeling kind of warm and looking a lot drunker than I was at that point in the evening. Jill was really nice, friendly and interesting (and hot as hell though I hope a feminist like her doesn't find that description insulting).
**Dawn Summers has a classic Clarified wrap-up, complete with inside jokes, anonymous gossip and random happenings. Also, her interaction with the fiance of the candidate for Manhattan Borough President was one of my favorite moments of the night.
**Steve Silver who along with Petitedov, Candy and Ginger (of the late blog Candied Ginger) actually crossed state lines to attend the party, mentions his favorite blog-related line of last night.
**Zelda at Urban Grind has a round-up that mentions the opera blogger, The Unamplified Voice, who I had the pleasure of meeting at the last blogger party and, embarrasingly, forgetting to blogroll. He will definitely be added in the next update that should happen in the next day or so.
**Radio star Kevin McCullough, who was there with his beautiful wife, has his take including some comments on blogging and ratings in general.
**I don't know what happened to Petitedov's date, Jessica, or how she ended up taking the subway back to the upper east side from west midtown but a faith in alcohol and little black dresses was renewed so it couldn't have been all bad.
**Ginger has returned to blogging. It must've been because of how cool we all looked last night that she thought to herself 'yes. I must do this again to fit in with these superhumans.' Or, it could've been Ari. You know, whichever.
**To the libertarians who got mad at me for my quote in Julia Gorin's piece a few months back about libertarians being Republicans who couldn't admit it yet, this is from the aforementioned Dawn round-up: *Liberteaser providing the best definition of libertarian I have ever heard when he responded to Seldom Sober's pronouncement that "I used to be Republican, but now I've stopped paying attention," with the classic "Well, then you're libertarian now." Get 'im, Julian.
**I thought this guy was messing with me (as I had had a beer or 5 by the time we met) when he told me he had a blog dedicated to the misuse of the lower case 'L' in signs throughout the city. But no. I met him along with the Englishman in New York, who I've been reading since discovering this post by him awhile back.
**I'm not sure if describing me as a 'rightwing deathbeast' is a compliment but I guess I'll take the 'impersario' label from Yehudit.
**Mary at Exit Zero had fun at the party but apparently attended the 'it' event of the year the following day.
**Bunniblog had a faith in the universe restored. I think that trumps Petitedov's aforementioned alcohol/little black dresses faith restoration. Bunni was there with Bakerina, whose site always makes me hungry.

Nah, came home late. Got up early to help a friend move. Not a smart move. Not even coffee helps in situations like that.
Posted by: Scott Sala at October 1, 2005 04:51 PMLovely Karol, you are the Blogger Meet Queen... Thank you for the fun time.
Posted by: M at October 2, 2005 04:53 AMIn defense of my honor - although i like to think i know how to get around manhattan i don't. Stupidly not taking Matt's advice about a taxi i ended up walking about seven blocks from the F train. Fun was had, please note the sarcasm. As for my date...she ran off with my crush, leaving me to fill the void with good conversation and lots of drink.
Posted by: Petitedov at October 2, 2005 09:48 AMIt IS a compliment! A tongue in cheek compliment poking fun at lefty stereotypes.
Posted by: Yehudit at October 2, 2005 03:01 PMI guess I should have put "RWDB" in quotation marks.....
