More than 'I love blogs' lip service

I mentioned Jeff Cook recently and the primary he's running against NY's Sue Kelly. Well, on Jeff's site, on the media page, alongside mentions of his campaign in 'real' media outlets like The Hill and several local papers, is his blogosphere coverage. And, that's pretty cool. I don't think I've ever seen that before. Even at the height of the blog craze, during the last election, I don't recall any candidates posting blog coverage on their media page. We have arrived, bloggers.

Fresh approach to the old press releases/news page.

However, a scan of coverage focuses on one thing. A gay Republican fighting for same-sex marriage. And that won't cut it, no matter what your thoughts on same-sex marriage.

On the other issues - smaller gov't, less gov't waste, again I repeat. New York elected officials bringing pork from DC - when our state economy has tanked - are a welcome thing. Attacking an incumbent on this won't work, as the people of the area (not the activist bloggers and writers) know this is about the only way they get anything. Fighting Washington for the money DC stole in the first place.
