If anyone told me on 9/11 that 4 years later this would be an actual headline....
Mayor Bloomberg defends threat response

That's what happens when the majority party in NYC starts identifying with the terrorists.
Posted by: Jake at October 7, 2005 07:05 PMIt's a headline because the feds totally discounted the info.
"An official from the Department of Homeland Security told CNN that the agency has received intelligence regarding "a specific but not credible" threat to New York's subway system "in recent days."
The official said that the intelligence community concluded the information is of "doubtful credibility."
Posted by: Henrieta at October 7, 2005 09:20 PMCome on, Karol. You watch Keith Olbermann. You read Wonkette. There's no terrorist threat.
Posted by: Allah at October 7, 2005 09:23 PMIs it just me, or is Bush hanging Bloomberg out to dry--"We won't second guess him, but the threat's of doubtful credibility". Now that's MUCH more shocking than any headline 4 years after 9/11.

Here is what Bush really said:
President Bush, asked Friday if he thought New York officials had overreacted, said: "I think they took the information we gave and made the judgments they thought were necessary."
Posted by: Jake at October 8, 2005 01:10 PMDid Giuliani's wife just dis Bloomberg?
Posted by: ugarte at October 8, 2005 03:02 PMYou really don't think it's possible that he just played up the threat to get some good press coverage before the election?
