Giving up the pretense of caring about America.

Which, I've got to admit, is refreshing. This guy really hopes the country goes to hell, just so Bush can be blamed:

I'm not a religious guy, usually, but this stuff is almost restoring my faith in God. It's really all coming apart for the Rethuglicans. Many of the major figures of the party are under indictment, or soon will be. Iraq is a disaster. The economy is fucked. The conservative base is finally pissed about something (The Miers nomination). Bush is on his way to being the least popular president in history.

Caring about the Republican Party is not the same as caring about America.

I don't hope America goes to hell, just the current corrupt administration and those who continue to support it.

It's your funeral, don't blame the messenger.

Funny the blogger should mention faith in God. Easily the most irritating type of Believer is the Narcissisticly Devout; the person who thinks he's better than you because he's got God behind him.

Mr. Bedazzled has got whatever it is knee-jerk anti-Rethuglicans have behind them, and that makes him (and his cohort), well, better.

Or, my herd is better than your herd, and I can be more herdmember-like than any other member of my herd.

Whatever. The dude is too wrapped up in his own sanctity to realize that if you supposedly like the car but hate the driver, rooting for a car wreck seems like a but-stupid thing to do.

This supposed funeral sure feels like a party to me. Guess some people can't appreciate a little bit of passing rain.

Posted by: J.Kende at October 13, 2005 07:49 AM

Yeah, but Jake, finding glee in "Iraq is a disaster. The economy is fucked.... he's destroying the Army and the National Guard" doesn't show a whole lot of concern for America either.

This "how DARE you accuse me of not loving America" spiel is getting mighty thin...

Posted by: Mark Poling at October 13, 2005 08:18 AM

For what it's worth, it seems to me that you are putting words in his mouth, and making assumptions about the thoughts in his head. Can't see where he explicitly says what you accuse him of Anyway, the guys site is full of really good music stuff. Thanks for the link.

Dude, the guy isn't glad Bush fucked up the economy and the war, he's glad that it's screwing the Republican party that is you know, responsible for it. If he actually wanted the country to go to hell he would vote Republican.

Posted by: Sam L. at October 13, 2005 08:51 AM

Ummm, yeah. That's why I voted for Bush. Yep. 'Cause you know, I'm evil. Uh huh.

Here's yer case study in why anti-Rethuglicans do so well in the "hearts-and-minds" department...

Posted by: Mark Poling at October 13, 2005 09:14 AM

Caring about the Republican Party is not the same as caring about America.

That's true. That's why I'm proud of you for blatantly disclosing your feelings about America. Don't backtrack now, you're one of the few honest America-haters and I appreciate that. You want the country to fail so that Bush is a failure. If that's not America-hating then I don't know what is.

"The economy is fucked" Of course it is for him. What a Loser.

Lets look at the numbers of September. via Jayson of PoliPundit

8.4 = unemployment rate in Sept. 1975.
7.1 = in Sept. 1985.
5.6 = in Sept. 1995.
5.1 = in Sept. 2005.

Wage Growth - Sept. 2005

Regarding lower-tiered workers (i.e., non-managers in the services sectors and production-line workers in the factory sector), average hourly earnings rose in September for the twenty-first consecutive month. Over the past year, such earnings have risen 2.6 percent.

Job Creation - 2005 - Aggregate

Over the past nine months, the economy has created 2,276,000 net jobs, of which 1,592,000 have been on non-farm payrolls. The net payroll job gains last month were posted in the following, high-paying labor sectors and subsectors:

236,100 = Health care services.
79,900 = Finance and insurance.
135,600 = Business services (accounting, legal, business mgt., etc.)
199,000 = Construction.
42,700 = Real estate.

More unemployment numbers.

September 1997

4.3 = unemployment rate for whites.
9.6 = for blacks.
7.6 = for latinos.

On the other hand:

September 2005

4.5 = unemployment rate for whites.
9.4 = for blacks.
6.5 = for latinos.

Contrast those number to the country that the Democrats thinks is economic Nirvana-France. There the minority unemployment rate (Muslims) is 30%.

Our inflation rate as of September was 2.3% .

Interest rates are at historic lows.

I know these numbers are going to put you leftys into a deep depression and many of you will commit suicide, but there are some bright spots for you. In the states controlled by the left, the unemployment rate is higher than the national average.

I was saving the best economic news for the last.

All of the prominent left-wing newspapers had massive layoffs in August and September.

Posted by: Jake at October 13, 2005 11:29 AM

And just think what the economy will be like when we actually have to raise taxes because Bush and the Republican Congress are spending like drunken sailors !

See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil Republicans (cause God knows we can not call them conservatives) have led to Bush abandoning conservative values on spending, protecting the border and, now, putting up an unqualified henchman for the SCOTUS. The Right seems to be waking up to some extent based on the response to this joke of a pick. I wonder if Bush's reassurance that she is a person of faith will have any impact.

Jake, how dare you introduce data into the argument! And you didn't even bother to throw in something cute like "dimmocrat"!

Evil man.

I really don't think the Miers nomination will tear apart the party, as much as the Left hopes and prays. Well, maybe not _prays_, but...whatever they do when we're praying.

We might even get really, really angry at the President over this and other issues. You know what? We might not vote for him again! Do they honestly think we're going to jump ship and let the likes of Hillary or Kerry turn our country into the USSA?

Not. Freakin. Likely.

I don't like the Miers nomination either. That the government spends like it has daddy's plastic at Abercrombie rankles me. And the fact that there is still no Great Wall of Baja is absolutely disgusting. That said, even if this particular conservative administration isn't as conservative as conservatives would like, doesn't mean we're going to abandon conservatism. And given that no democrat with an iota of red-state values is going to get the nomination, we're not going to abandon this elephant either.

We'll cry if we want to, but it's still our party.

"Funny the blogger should mention faith in God".

Can you people not read? What i said is, "I'm NOT a religious guy, usually, but this stuff is ALMOST restoring my faith in God."

How do you get that I'm religious out of this? I'm an atheist.

"This supposed funeral sure feels like a party to me. Guess some people can't appreciate a little bit of passing rain."

Enjoy the shower. it might be a little harder and go on a little longer than you had hoped. 2,000 American soldiers dead for nothing. Party on dude!

"Ummm, yeah. That's why I voted for Bush. Yep. 'Cause you know, I'm evil. Uh huh."

Is that a joke?

"You want the country to fail so that Bush is a failure. If that's not America-hating then I don't know what is."

Bush is already a failure. If pointing out that fact makes me an America hater then so be it.

"Contrast those number to the country that the Democrats thinks is economic Nirvana-France."

So we're doing better than France? Awesome! What about compared to say, when Clinton was president? All that peace and prosperity was sure annoying, glad we got rid of it. Along with that surplus.

"I really don't think the Miers nomination will tear apart the party, as much as the Left hopes and prays."

Seems like it's "conservatives" that are mostly opposed to her nomination. But you'll find a way to blame anything on democrats.

Once again, the point you're trying to miss is I'm actually SAD that America has been screwed by The Bush Family. I'm just happy that their chickens are finally coming home to roost.

Give it a year or two. You'll all be running away from this guy. If you want your party to survive.

It's kind of hilarious that the idea that I don't want Bush impeached is so controversial. Do you guys want him impeached?

his faith in God is being restored as the Rapture becomes closer. After Noah, God did say that He wouldn't flood us again, it would be the fire next time. As Bush pushes us to the brink, or "coincidences conspire," what have you, maybe this mess was preordained.

Posted by: maybe at October 13, 2005 04:22 PM

maybe his faith in God is being restored as the rapture becomes more and more close. After Noah, God did say He would never flood us again, it would be fire next time. So as Bush stopped focusing on containing the Nuclear Proliferation of materiel from former Soviet Republics and with ham-handed cowboy diplomacy prods meglomaniacs to build new nukes in Korea and Iran, and himself wants to start building new "tactical" nukes to teeter us on the brink... (I mean, "unlucky coincidences conspire")... perhaps this was preordained by a God who is fed up and ready for the fire.

How do you get that I'm religious out of this? I'm an atheist.

And can you not think? I was comparing your smug attitude with that of some sanctimonious church lady who wears her piety like a new Easter hat.

Your words do more to harm the causes you purport to believe in that to help. (Actually, I'm of the opinion that you only believe in your own cleverness, which means, I think, you really should convert to atheism). Therefore, you should stop talking, for the sake of your putative allies.

There's a short form, but I prefer to picture you trying to figure out what I just wrote. The rest of the crowd (except maybe for maybe) will get it.
