The policy of truth

It's pretty amazing how many people have been taken down in recent years because of their fibbing. Bill Clinton, Martha Stewart, Lil Kim, and now Scooter Libby, all were investigated for crimes and then charged with simple lying. Lesson? Lying liars will be punished.

Wrong. The lesson is liars who are caught will be punished.

The good liars are never detected and roam free on our streets.

Dawn is right. Libby should have done what the Clintonistas always said when they were questioned under oath.

Here is some examples of the number of times Clinton suspects said "I don't remember," under oath.

Hillary Clinton 250
Bill Kennedy 116
Harold Ickes 148
Ricki Seidman 160
Bruce Lindsey 161
Bill Burton 191
Mark Gearan 221
Mack McLarty 233
Neil Egglseston 250
John Podesta 264
Jennifer O'Connor 343
Dwight Holton 348
Patsy Thomasson 420
Jeff Eller 697

Hillary's memory is so bad, it is a wonder she finds her way home at night.

Reading the testimony cited in the indictment, he comes across as a very badly prepped witness. Why bother making up testimony so easily contradicted? It's a little bit odd.

But I'm not very quick to convict Scooter Libby. I take perjury very seriously, but something bothers me about dragging a man in front of a grand jury, without cross-examination, during the course of 22 months, and eventually charging him with contradicting himself about the circumstances of a crime that legally never happened.

Ummm...that's the funny, funny thing about the truth (or a really good lie) it *never* changes Dorian. That's where the phrase "that's my story and I'm sticking to it" comes from.

NDS--

I contradicted myself twice today while I was discussing my favorite ice cream.....are you seriously suggesting that Libby is supposed to have a clear-cut unblemished memory of his every conversation about Ambassador Do-Nothing and Harriet the Spy?

So where exactly are those Weapons of Mass Destruction that we've been hearing so much about?
