Drugged out actress on my doorstep
I saw Natasha Lyonne right outside of my building on the upper east side today. I had seen a few of her movies, most memorable of which was 'But I'm a Cheerleader'. She looked destroyed today. She was wearing some type of half see-through shirt and looked like she was still out from the previous night. She ambled across the street, stopping in the middle, all dazed, while talking into her cell phone. She didn't seem to know what was going on and I could hear her slurring as she talked. I wanted to ask her if she was alright, which is probably what I would've done if she wasn't famous, but she just seemed so gone. I called neighbor Ari and asked if she knew of the actress. She did, and relayed that it is common knowledge that the girl has a severe drug problem. That's too bad.
Update: Gawker had a post about her and her habit just a few days ago.

I feel sorry for those young actresses.
You go to auditions and there are 150 other actresses after the same part, and you think most look better than you do.
You are continually turned down to even audition and when you get an audition, they turn you down because of your looks or personality. They are rejecting you because of the person you are.
You read People magazine and in each and every issue there are three or four brand-new actresses that will compete against you and those women are stunning.
You get one job a year, work three months for an astounding amount of money and then spend the rest of the year with nothing to do. You have all that time to worry about ever getting another part again.

I see what you're saying though and it's certainly true.
Posted by: Ari at November 3, 2005 10:59 PMit's definitely great when people like you make assumptions about other people and then slander them by sending *JUICY INFO!* on
them to people like Mario Lavanderia (aka. PerezHilton). Don't you have something else
better
to
do
?
people deal with the shit in their lives and it seems like she went through a rough time.
UPDATE: what a bitch you are, Karol.
It takes one to know... how does that go again? Anyone?
Posted by: Ari at November 3, 2005 11:25 PMOMGGG!!! YOU MADE PEREZHILTON.COM!!!! congrats!!!
Posted by: dana superstar at November 4, 2005 12:54 AMI am amused that someone who reads Perez Hilton thinks celeb gossip is wrong. You're on the wrong page, girly.
Posted by: Karol at November 4, 2005 02:08 AMI dunno, I would have offered help anyway.
Posted by: someone at November 4, 2005 03:59 AMHot and doable nonetheless
Posted by: toby at November 4, 2005 01:15 PMExclusive Alarming News announcement: "girly" is the new "guy."
Posted by: ugarte at November 4, 2005 01:43 PMI just watched "But I'm a Cheerleader" last week. And I once saw Natasha thrownin' em back at an after-party. Her father is a local talk-show host, Aron Bronstein, who I once interviewed. Great guy.
Posted by: Steve at November 5, 2005 10:50 AMI am amused that you probably will be sued by Aaron Bronstein who reads Perez Hilton.
i don't think celebrity gossip is *wrong*, i think it's sometimes amusing. //
The father of hospitalised actress Natasha Lyonne is taking legal action against the Beth Israel Hospital after an employee leaked information about his daughter's critical condition.
According to the New York Daily News, her father Aaron Braunstein is planning to sue the hospital for $180 million (GBP100 million) after an article appeared in the New York Post detailing the 26-year-old actress' medical condition.
Braunstein says, "They broke the patient-doctor confidentiality rule. It's my child, my little girl. Why would someone do something like that?
"Be sure the hospital is going to be sued. Natasha's basically a very kind, sensitive person. A lot of the stuff you see there is camouflage. It was a persona, her character."
Posted by: mile.cardillo at November 5, 2005 05:17 PMYou're easily amused then. Clearly you don't understand the difference between medical privacy and free speech.
Posted by: Karol at November 5, 2005 05:44 PMclearly i don't.
Some people often wonder whether or not gossip is protected under the First Amendment, which guarantees the right to free speech. Most constitutional scholars interpret the First Amendment as being largely protective of political speech. Gossip, while perhaps "political" in one sense, likely has little or no relevance to how we govern ourselves as a republic. Also, the courts have been unwilling to protect speech that injures others. The First Amendment has never protected slander, in which the words themselves are actually punishable.
Hey Natasha, you was fly once now you're losin' all your fronts. Started out light on the tip of woolie blunts. Now you gained a stripe, graduated to the pipe. Took a long pull...hype! Yeah, head crack, head crack. You smoked up that stack and admit it, you was fat (Hey yo X, wasnt that your girl?) Yeah, I had to drop 'er. Cause she was caught on the plastic and I just couldnt stop 'er.
After i stop feeling bad about how tragic Natasha Lyonne's life is, I think i'll remember that like all women who are atleast marginally atractive, she can always fall back on sexual favors to make a living. If she starts doing porn now she can get pre-hasbeen money. Heck, I'll take a look. If she waits a few more years she will be givin head in lower eastside bathrooms for crack hits. Give me a call Natasha, I'll keep you off skid row for a while.
