Everything that dies, someday comes back.

Like a lot of what Bruce Springsteen says, that makes no sense.

Yeah, cuz that Flaming Lips song is sooooooo deep. Sounds like a realization a 12-year-old would have.

"Dude, we're all gonna die one day."
"Dude, I know. How WEIRD is that."
"Even like Cindy, that hot chick in fifth period."
"I know, dude. Can you imagine her getting all old and shit."
"Dude, no lie."
"Bummer, dude."

I don't listen to music for 'deepness'. I outgrew that circa age 15, right around the time I decided not to hate everyone that didn't want to marry me.

Ooooh... snaps to Snaps ;)

Ohhhhh, snap. It's on.

Marriage?! As if. While I always appreciate a link to the Nondating Life, I'm starting to think that you fell off the same truck as F-Train when yall decided to take the post seriously.

As far as music goes, you obviously don't listen to music for deepness considering how hard you pimp for Fitty. That sort of goes without saying. The only difference between Fitty and Clay Aiken is one can sing. And one's white. Oh, and he's also gay. And sort of scary looking. And his big hit was something about hiding under some girl'd bed while she undressed or something (maybe he was stealing wardrobe ideas?). Okay, so I might not have a strong case for that one.

So why don't you explain to us what exactly prompted you to post these lyrics. They're obviously not deep. Are we to believe they're beautiful? Whimsical? I don't know. What?

Posted by: ken at November 16, 2005 05:14 PM

oooh, Ken just called Fitty gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Posted by: Not Dawn Summers at November 16, 2005 05:25 PM

I dunno, I just like them. See, Ken, you overthink things while I just go with my gut feeling. The latter is the better way to live. I don't go through agonizing 'why doesn't this person like me' nonsense because I understand it's not something they or I can control. Just like liking lyrics. I just like 'em. I don't need to learn from them or think they're deep.

And your insulting of 50 for not being able to sing is kind of silly since he's a rapper and therefore not a singer. But nice try.

I overthink. This from someone who wrote a 452 word response to a Nondating Life column.

wow... this is exactly how the borough wars began the last time in The Warriors. It's all very exciting ;)

You gave bad advice, I was looking to correct that.

I just love this song. Awesome beat. It's on my iPod!

I can't remember a single person that was into the mid-eighties punk scene for the deepness, it was all about getting really drunk and pissing people off. Seeing the Lips in some outhouse of a club back then was a highlight of this existence.

sometimes even the stupidest lyrics sound profound when they are paired with beautiful music. i remember thinking that the first time i heard this song.

that being said, as much as i love the flaming lips i could never ever take this guy seriously.
