Quote of the Day (with that day being yesterday)
It now looks like Ariel Sharon may have struck the most devastating blow against Palestinian statehood by allowing them to have Gaza all to themselves. Sharon, who may be dying at this very moment, gave the world a fishbowl for the Palestinians to demonstrate the endgame of their nihilism. They have now made a ruin of Gaza, attacked Egypt, kidnapped the parents of one of their own folk heroes, and turned the territory into a gangland instead of a state. Egypt has yet to respond to the murder of its guards, but one doubts that Cairo will react with brotherly love to a government that it insisted be given this golden opportunity to prove it could run Gaza as a state.Posted by Karol at January 6, 2006 01:21 AM | TrackBack

Stunning, right? The Palestinians - er - Gazites (??) got more out of Sharon, their biggest enemy than they ever got from a friend yet they are still cursing him and wishing him a painful death. Really, they ought to rot, a more useless collection of people never existed. On the positive side though, it seems they may end up doing more damage to themselves, their land and their cause than the Israelis could ever have hoped to accomplish.
Posted by: Ari at January 6, 2006 10:17 AMOh, don't you worry. They'll still blame the Israelis for setting them up to fail by being such evil oppressors all those years, and for perpetuating failure by doing stuff like (gasp!) not allowing Gaza to freely import cargo from Iran and the like.
