Go Steele!

A few days ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Maryland US Senate candidate Michael Steele. He was extremely impressive but I have to admit I have been a huge pessimist about 2006(you can't win all the time and even if the Democrats are a disaster, they're bound to win something at some point), and was resigned to the fact that a win would be a long shot in a dark blue state like Maryland. He said that he's polling even or slightly ahead of possible opponents and I hoped that wasn't politician-speak for 'in my imagination I am polling...'. Turns out, it's true. Yes, polls don't mean anything but it's encouraging to see Steele in the lead at this point in the race. I wish him the best of luck.

Update: I totally want one of these shirts:

Look at him lording over all those women like he's the man or something.

Yeah, except that's not him. What, all black people look the same, DAWN?

I have no idea what michael steele looks like. Call me crazy for assuming that in a post about michael steele, you'd put up a picture of him and not some random black guy.

In any case, my comment just said Look at him I didn't say "look at michael steele." Every him refers to Michael steele now?

Sychophant.

"I have to admit I have been a huge pessimist about 2006"

I was until Ted Kennedy was on national TV for three straight days and people saw the best the Democrats have to offer America.

Being drunk, fat and stupid is no way to win elections. The Democrats are doomed. Doomed, I tell you.

I agree with you, Jake. But imagine if they got their act together.

Posted by: Karol at January 14, 2006 01:51 PM

Get their act together? Not if the DUmmies and Kos Kids have anything to say about it. They don't think they are doing anything wrong. They think Ted Kennedy is a big wuss.

Well, if 2004 is anything to go by, they won't have any say.

can anyone link to me a picture of the alleged rain of oreo cookies incident? Please!

Posted by: bryan at January 14, 2006 04:37 PM

I don't believe there is a picture of that.

I can't believe nobody thought to bring a camera to a rally/whatever it was if not a rally. Don't politicians have volunteer camera people in their entourage? It makes me wonder if it really happened at all....

Tell me how one would capture oreos being hurled through the air.

Posted by: Karol at January 15, 2006 12:47 AM

Wow. Bad behavior followed by denial of said bad behavior. How leftwing can you get!

Posted by: ll at January 15, 2006 01:03 PM

I think a photograph of the floor covered in said biscuits, or somone holding up a haqndful of them to the camera would've been more than sufficient. This could have also soured people against the Dems who (allegedly) did it, and this wouldn't do Steele any harm. btw, one can easily get a picture of a golf ball in motion, and with the right film and shutter speeds, easily catch a biscuit mid-flight.
The left have IMO plausible deniability on this one, because of the lack of pictures.
