CPAC

For the first time in a long time, I'm going to have to miss CPAC. I have work obligations that will need me in NY on Friday. I'm sad that I can't go but it's out of my control. Thanks to everyone, uh I mean Jake, who gave me a donation for my CPAC cause. I will be returning the donation.

Guest-blogging for me from CPAC will be Mark Harris and Alex Brunk of Save the GOP. If you're not reading Save the GOP, you should be. It's the site for movement conservatives and I know they will do a great job covering the event.

What part of 'I will be returning the donation' did you not understand? Do we need to compare reading comp skills?

Posted by: Karol at February 8, 2006 05:20 PM

Well, if you go to AC, you could double the donation -thus still giving it back while also going to AC.

What part of that don't you understand?

Dorian, if anyone gave Karol $5000 to do anything, she'd be doing it. Just sayin.

Does this mean you'll be at the NYYRC meet tonight?

Bummer. I was looking forward to seeing *Sniff* *Sniff*

Who's going to satisfy our Matt Drudge/Ann Coulter gossip fix?

It appears you are not the only famous blogger to be missing cpac. (check aoshq)

Wow!! What a coincidence!

This was my first CPAC... and I was allowed to join "Bloggers Row" (which I didn't even know about going in to CPAC, even after La Shawn told me what it was, following the Leadership Institute workshop on blogging).

On the last day of CPAC, as the Expo center was [quite unforunately!] closing down, and I was scrambling to do everything at once... I was still trying to identify the faces (of the people around me) with their weblogs. [And I had been trying to find Mark Harris and Alex Brunk in person... which I was able to do, however briefly.] Anyway, as things were closing down (but as bloggers were still working - as Sean could tell you!), I was saying bye to La Shawn, and I asked the lady blogging next to her, "Are you Karol from Alarming News?" She said no, that she was Girl on the Right. But La Shawn said that she knew who I was talking about... But I guess she wasn't sure if you were there this year. The thing is, I immediately asked then about 'Ace of Spades HQ.' The thought had earlier entered my mind of him possibly being there, though I may have thought it unlikely, as he was from New York, not from the Beltway. But as I was packing up my stuff, I saw a handwritten table sign saying none other than "Ace of Spades HQ"!! I was of course wondering where Ace was... It was clear that he had left, and someone said "He likes to keep a low profile," which I already knew... I recall recently seeing a photo with his face blocked out. There were several other bloggers who I would have liked to have seen, but unfortunately missed.

Rats.

(Maybe next year?!)
