Al Gore is a menace
I missed this, but apparently Al 'not quite president but doesn't seem to realize it' Gore, gave a speech to 'our friends the Saudis' the other day. He accused the US government of "terrible abuses" of Arabs who had, apparently, been "indiscriminately rounded up" and held in "unforgivable" conditions after 9/11. Actually, what's unforgivable is that speeches like this that rile up our enemies are considered completely acceptable. We're at war with fundamentalist Muslims who get remarkably insulted at just about everything (see rioting over Muhammad cartoons, rioting over Koran flushing, rioting over French teens electrocuting themselves, etc.) Should Al Gore be spreading lies to these people about the treatment of Arabs in America? Is he trying to cause America harm?
Hat-tip Ark.

You own Allah's official Al Gore/"Get Over It" t-shirt, don't you?
DON'T YOU?
Posted by: Allah at February 15, 2006 04:46 PMI don't. Where can I get one? :-)
Posted by: Karol at February 15, 2006 04:48 PMOn this same subject....have a look at "Al Gore's Doomsday Countdown to World Destruction" at RushLimbaugh.com!

The civilized , democratic nations of the world are not, nor should they bow to every whim of the Islamic world.
You see we have a tradition of freedom of speech, and they have a tradition of toltalitarian rule, with no room for dissent.
We have a right to our opinoins, as does everyone, they need to learn that mindless voilence in the streets does not sway any one to thier point of view.
He's totally lost it. Even more than when he essentially called Bush a traitor and a Nazi. At least he was talking to Americans.
Say what you will about George H.W. Bush and Bob Dole, but after they lost their elections they kept a low profile. And they never attacked the president overseas. A protocol both Gore and Bill Clinton have ignored (Clinton did it last year, in Dubai). Class act, guys.
They paid him to speak and they probably decide the content of his speech.
That's not how speeches work. Though if it were, talk about a Manchurian Candidate-style vision for Gore. "I'm Al Gore, I say whatever the Saudis pay me to say!"

Posted by: daniel at February 15, 2006 09:39 PMGore has become SHEEHAN-ESQUE. The DEM party has
no common vision, no class, and no united front.
I voted for Bush in the second term. Kerry? Ha, very funny, tell me another joke. -- (I am a DEM, I voted for GORE in 2000) I am so glad he
did not win now! - hindsight 20/20! He has really gone downhill. My theory on Gore - lack of oxygen from kissing Tipper too long during 2000 race. The DEM party reminds me of the book by James Frey - Million Little Pieces. DEMS are shattered much like a 'broken dish.' (they speak the truth about as much as the author, as well.) No common vision, no team work. Carter - apparently he has misplaced his brain, class, and dignity. (cheap shots on a current Pres. from an ex Pres. -- spewing his MONDAY MORNING QB venom at a funeral for Correta King. Dean - sometimes he feels like a nut, sometimes he don't. YEEEEEEAH! / Both Al's - Sharpton/Gore -- nut, nut / Pelosi, formerly known as nut, recently promoted to 'inspidly clueless' , Jesse "he my baby daddy" Jackson - like Simon says on AMER. IDOL, ...THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL! Harry Belafonte, this is what happens when grandpa's LICENSE ISN'T REVOKED BY THE DMV AND GRAMPY KEEPS FORGETTING TO TAKE HIS MEDICATION. Pack them all on the Partridge Family Multi-Colored Love Bus driven by Ben or Jerry - they need to hangout with Cindy & Chavez at Camp Whack-Job. LUNACY! My party is adrift at sea, they can not seem to spot the lighthouse through the pea soup like fog. We should chip in and send some of the people named above Quail hunting with Cheney! I can hear it now - "Hi Cindy, take this bird call and wait until I give the signal to blow it, okay?" "No, uh no... you have to leave your ugly-a$$ straw hat in the truck. "Here, I bought you a very special hunter's hat - it has antlers on it! this will help you blend in with nature. We wouldn't want to spook the animals, ok? MUHAHA Wascally Wabitt.
Politicians slant their speech towards their audience. A prsidential hopeful doesnt go to Alabama and give major speeches on Gay rights and the Pro Abortion case. The Saudis don't want to hear about radical islam, what plays well is what Al Gore said. Sad but true.
Besides as the Saudis pretty much control your economy is it a good idea to give a Rush Limbaugh/Fox News patented speech that is only going to piss them off.
Lastly Al Gore is entitled to say whatever he wants. Free speech works both ways including saying things the American Right dislikes vehemently. And who honestly cares what Al Gore thinks now anyway? he doesnt speak for American policy.
Posted by: Nick at February 16, 2006 07:38 AMThat was the "proven-false-allegations-of-Koran-flushing." C'mon, Karol.
Posted by: ccs178 (Chris) at February 16, 2006 08:17 AMLastly Al Gore is entitled to say whatever he wants. Free speech works both ways including saying things the American Right dislikes vehemently.
I'm really, really sick of this argument that wackos wheel out when they want to defend off-the-wall, incendiary, and even treasonous statements. OF COURSE, everyone has the RIGHT to say what they want to say in America. That doesn't make it right to say it. Just because something's legal, doesn't mean it's beneficial or even non-detrimental.
But thankfully, you're right, Nick, I doubt many people care about Al Gore. But just the fact that he'll go through the trouble of using his freedom of speech to help undermine his country speaks volumes.
Posted by: Jay at February 16, 2006 11:20 AMThis all reminds me of that x-marine officer who was paid by Saddam to promote the anti-war side and that Saddam didn't have WMD's and all that other stuff that turned out to be true.
That guy used to piss me off (Can't remember his name though)
Posted by: danTHEdemocrat at February 16, 2006 04:46 PMAl Gore is a menace??? Having a bunch of neo-con war mongers in power is a menace. Having a president who decides to fight war to pad his pockets is a menace. Having a president who allienates the US from the rest of the world makes that president a menace. Yeah yeah, i hear ya, "but I thought terrorists were a menace???" well, yeah, of course, but US foriegn policy breeds hate and terrorism for and towards americans and its allies. Its not about giving in to Islamic fanatics, because that would be wrong. Its about respecting human life and not giving people a reason to be fanatic in the first place.
Posted by: Erik at February 16, 2006 10:05 PMUS foriegn policy breeds hate and terrorism for and towards americans and its allies
If US policy is responsible for breeding hate and terrorism, then why are the Islamists in the Sudan currently killing poor black Muslims who aren't allied with us in any way? Why have Islamists murdered and enslaved millions of Africans (who are not allied with the US) in the Sudan, Mauritania, Nigeria, etc.? Why are Saudi-funded Islamists murdering Buddhist monks and Hindus in India, while trying to overthrow their respective governments? Why have Wahhabi/Islamists been using terrorism to intimidate people for more than a hundred years?
The fact that we allow the Saudis to own the US, the British and most of the worlds' economies is responsible for breeding terrorism. We should stop doing that. The world needs Saudi oil, but no one needs the Saudis.
Posted by: mary at February 17, 2006 09:02 AMBesides as the Saudis pretty much control your economy
The Saudi's control our 8 trillion dollar economy? They might have the capacity to do that in whatever dismal backwater from where you hail but not in a real country like mine.
Let's see some evidence for your latest moronic, absurd and breathtakingly stupid bleat. Prove you are not the idiot we all know you to be.
I'm really, really sick of this argument that wackos wheel out when they want to defend off-the-wall, incendiary, and even treasonous statements. OF COURSE, everyone has the RIGHT to say what they want to say in America
Jay, that would be the case if Mr. Wooden Indian Head said this in America. But he went over into their viper nest, and took blood money to be there mouthpiece stooge.
Posted by: Radical Redneck at February 18, 2006 01:35 AMIts about respecting human life
Just like this. Courtesy of YOUR Islamic heroes.
