I feel like they left something off
Via Blogometer comes this self-congratulatory post on Daily Kos:
Now, let's look back at 5/03. dKos was just 1 year old, and the "blogosphere" was in relative infancy. Howard Dean was THE story, because he wasn't afraid to state his opinions, while most of the Washington Dems were scared of looking unpatriotic if they disagreed with Bush. Dean, a DC outsider, went from being an unknown to media sensation in a short amount of time, with the help of the new "netroots" and other Democrats looking to excite the party. He wasn't taking cues from Washington consultants, instead he went to the "regular" people, even Kos, to help with his campaign... and it was effective. It was so effective, the insider Dems came face-to-face with their irrelevance, and possible extinction. Instead of adapting to the emerging change, and trying to bring EVERYONE into the party, the DLC made the decision to divide.
......and then he went on to lose the primary to John-of all people- Kerry. So, yeah, wow, go netroots. I hope the liberal netroots can do for all their candidates what they did for Howard Dean.

He won new Hampshire.
Posted by: Not Dawn Summers at June 15, 2006 03:52 PMThe problem with the liberal blogosphere is that they already are (or will be soon) becoming everything they claim to hate. They say they despise the mainstream media yet I see Markos writing op-eds in the Washington Post repeatedly.
They say they are for the freedom of speech but try posting a diary on Daily Kos and saying something negative about a Democrat (for example why it's a bad idea for Harry Reid to be accepting boxing credentials while the Senate Minority Leader) and you're account is instantly locked out and you are deemed a "troll."
They are not for better government at all - just a pawn of the Democratic Party.

Posted by: Karol at June 15, 2006 03:58 PMNot New Hampshire, the other really white state up there. Where he was Governor.
Posted by: Not Dawn Summers at June 15, 2006 04:22 PMI thought it was just common courtesy to pick your governor if he's running.
