Today, noon, NYC.
I've written before how I think protesting is sort of dumb, but if you're into that sort of thing, this might be a good one to check out.
July 10, 2006, 12:00 noon: American Friends of Likud invites you to a RALLY TO SAVE GILAD SHALIT. The order to Hamas to kidnap IDF Cpl. Gilad Shalit came from Damascus. The order to Hamas to free him must come from there, too. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad plays a critical role in this hostage crisis, since Hamas leader Khalid Meshaal operates in Syria under his protection. Join the Ad Hoc Coalition for Justice in front of the Syrian Mission to the United Nations to send a message to Bashar al-Assad and Palestinian leaders. Demand the immediate and unconditional release of Cpl. Gilad Shalit, and an end to Syrian support for the terrorists of Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Hezbollah. Call on the international community to act against those who harbor and support terrorist groups. Demand that the Palestinian Authority halt the ongoing firing of rockets and mortars into Israel. In front of the Syrian Mission to the U.N., 820 Second Avenue between 43rd & 44th Streets-Rain or Shine. Subways: 4, 5, 6, 7 to Grand Central Station. Sponsored by the Ad Hoc Coalition for Justice.
UPDATE: Over a dozen groups will be protesting the NY Times tonight, 5-8pm, over its insistence in publishing classified information. Michelle Malkin has the info.

Posted by: Radical Redneck at July 10, 2006 01:24 PMYou Right-Wing Drones have been fighting the free press for decades. When are you going to get the point that you cannot win? Let this "Treasury Official" bring the case before Congressional hearings. Let it go before the Senate and Arlen Spector as well. Now that will undoubtedly be a blast. Here's hoping the "Treasury Official" brings with them the copy of the segment done by Fox News about how the Al Qaeda isn't using International Wiring System for their transactions and they have resorted to transporting currency like gold, cash and diamonds. Who is truly stupid enough to buy into this propaganda. Has America grown that dumb? Here's hoping that "Treasury Official" brings with them the case notes concerning the leaking of a CIA NOC agent's identity and the subsequent war on terror operation going bust and human assets lives being exposed to danger. How many standards do you drones possess?
Posted by: Trevor at July 10, 2006 01:42 PMIt is unclear to me what the NY Times did wrong. I thought we still live in a republic and that citizens should know what their government does.
Posted by: Dan at July 10, 2006 03:47 PMHas anybody seen any coverage about Yesterday's NY lunchtime rally? I didn't see anything in the post.com or Newsday.com.
(I did find coverage of the Philly and Washington Rallys)
My friend Sari was at the rally and gave me this review she said,
Just back from the Syrian Embassy in NY:
Lots of people (2-3,000) and Tons of ruach
The most effective speaker was Rabbi Weiss.... he was incredible
Mort Zuckerman was Full of Sh** Talking about the need for a united front against terror (evidently he doesn’t read the paper he owns, the NY Daily News, which is always finding a way to find a moral equivalency between terrorists and the IDF fighting terrorists). Of course I just saw a report on Fox news that called Israel’s Efforts to free Gilad.."the circle of violence"
Then there was the parade of Politicians speaking for 2 seconds to court the Jewish Vote
The only two that belonged there was Assemblyman Silver and Congressman Nadler
Across the street there were 5 Chassids with signs saying that The Talmud says there cant be an Israel. So I went over to them to tell them this wasn’t an Israel rally it was to show support for the family of a kidnapped boy, that THEY should read their Talmud better because they were trying to put a stumbling block in front of us comforting Gilad’s family and praying for his release.
