I may be wrong....
....but at least I'm not too chicken to put my name on my prediction.
Predictions for today's US Senate primary in CT are welcome in the comment section.
UPDATE: Ben Smith is saying that the mood in CT seems to have swung in Lieberman's direction, though he's careful to note that may not translate into votes.
ANOTHER UPDATE: The Lieberman team is accusing Lamont and his supporters with bringing down their website.

Given that Zogby is predicting Lamont, I think I have to go with Lieberman.
Posted by: Alceste at August 8, 2006 10:46 AMYou realize if Lieberman pulls it off, there will be nonstop unsubstantiated accusations of vote fraud from the nutroots. It's getting old.
Posted by: sam at August 8, 2006 10:50 AMLieberman. Tighter than I thought a month ago, but I'm expecting an anti-Kossack backlash.
BTW, it seems someone hacked Lieberman's campaign site. I guess these Progressives are only for free speech if it's their own speech.

I saw that but, to be honest, my first reaction was to blame the Lieberman campaign. Last night, the site had the message "vote for what you know, vote for Joe" and that's it. So I thought they were trying to be cute. But today it's just completely down.
Posted by: Karol at August 8, 2006 11:18 AMLieberman, 51-49. I think there will be sufficient turnout of non-ideologues in the primary to (barely) save Joe.
Posted by: bobm at August 8, 2006 11:24 AMLieberman will win because Lamont supporters will get lost on the way to the polls.
Posted by: Jake at August 8, 2006 11:28 AMWhile I like Lieberman a lot, my read on this is the reasons Lamont has surged and the motivation behind his support will ensure his voters turn out.
It'd be a better America if I were wrong, but Lamont takes it, 53-46.

Angry Progressives always under-perform. Exceeding expectations is so bourgeois.
I'm pulling for anti-backlash backlash. (Although I've said before that a Lamont win will usher in the death of the Democratic Party as we know it. I can't decide whether that would be a good thing or not.)
Posted by: Mark Poling at August 8, 2006 12:03 PMPolls suck. Lieberman, but it will be close. I finally put up a post about it too.
Posted by: ccs178 (Chris) at August 8, 2006 12:27 PM"Vote for what you know, vote for Joe" was probably a VERY lame attempt to get something up.
Reading NRO, Liberman's site has apparently been brought down at least once before. Being a Democrat, his campaign (apparently) didn't have a backup.
This is a link to the Google cache for Lieberman's campaign site.
Again, let's hope this makes all the news shows.

Posted by: Mark Poling at August 8, 2006 01:26 PMI'm thinking Lamont wins due to support from African Americans in Hartford, New Haven and Bridgeport.
With Lamont winning, the GOP will try the old bait and switch since Schlesinger is pathetic. Granted these are the same Republicans who bitched like hell when it was done in NJ and whined about Hillary being a carpetbagger before running out to suport Mrs. Dole of Kansas for a Senate seat in NC and Alan Keyes of Maryland for one in Illinois.
Posted by: Von Bek at August 8, 2006 02:34 PMI'm going to agree with Karol for once. Then again, I wanted to smack Lieberman for claiming that his website being hacked is "disenfranchising" voters. THEY DON'T VOTE THROUGH YOUR WEBSITE, DUMBASS!!
Posted by: Ken at August 8, 2006 02:54 PMIf Ken is agreeing with me, I'd like to retract my prediction. ;-)
