On Ned Lamont

"But it's good for Republicans."

"But it's bad for America."

Who was it who called the race 55-45 for Lieberman? And who was it who called it 52-48 for Lamont? Which is exactly what it is now?

Say it.

I gave the power of incumbency too much credit. I was wrong. I just am not sure if I'm happy or unhappy to be wrong. And yes, Allah, you are the creator of the universe and right about everything.

You're still prettier, Karol.

Only barely, Sam. :-)

Do you think it would be good for Republicans even if Joe dropped out and endorsed Lamont?

Uh....no. The only Republicans who this is good for are Chris Shays and the other guy (I think he is CT-2...Simmons maybe?). Lieberman's record on a lot of domestic issues is very poor. Lieberman said he would caucus with the Dems if he won. Lamont seems to be to the left of Lieberman. And GOP nominee Schlesinger is a non factor in the race. I don't think the Republicans can run against Lamont as easily as they could Howard Dean cause the guy just is not that well known. The only way this is good for the GOP is it helps the two Republican congressmen who are in deep trouble in CT since you figure a lot of the Lieberman voters in their districts will vote for a moderate GOPer.

Huge hit to Lieberman. I'd call him toast, except Lamont now has 4 months for Connecticut to get to know him.

Richer, Whiter, Dumber: the Progressive Party Platform.

Wrong on both counts.. and isn't Richer, Whiter Dumber the Texas GOP slogan? I think it actually works down there.

"There is No Second Place in American Politics" - Joe Lieberman after losing the 2004 election and well before setting up the "Lieberman for Lieberman" political party... oops.. I mean "Connecticut for Lieberman"

If you thought the left was bug-eyed, frothing-at-the-mouth crazy before. You ain't seen nothing yet. For the next week, they will be in a frenzy chewing through their arms so they can beat other Democrats over the head with them.

But more important, the left's cannibalistic frenzy will burn up some important left-wing money.
