Posted by: Joe Grossberg at August 21, 2006 03:31 PMSome polls matter, "Are you going to vote for XXX?" That has a pretty strong statistical meaning. "How do you feel about XYZ?" Not so much. Too much bias in questions. None of the polls from the Times piece asked meaningful questions. All I think is, "What kind of action can I take based on this inference."
Anyways, talking about one poll in particular ignores the fundamentals of sampling error.
