"Honesty is such a lonely word, everyone is so untrue"
All Bill Clinton wants is for the truth to come out. That's all.

A sickening reminder of the cynical manipulation and spin during the Clinton years. The truth is the last thing this slime want to see come out. Clinton remains the most morally corrupt man ever to occupy the Oval Office. If his wife were ever to become President, she'd make the statement gender neutral.
Posted by: Redhand at September 9, 2006 06:55 AMyou think CLINTON is the most morally corrupt man to occupy the oval office?
The Republicans have had NIXON and the current president monkey boy and you claim CLINTON as the most morally corrupt??????????
As for cynical manipulation and spin what the bloody hell do you call the lead up to Iraq and the war on terror.
Falling about laughing.

Were you born in 2000? Redhand's comment is spot-on. As president, Clinton couldn't open his mouth without lying, and nothing's changed.
The oval office never had a more adept and cynical manipulator of the nation's electorate.
By the way, there wouldn't be a war on terrorism if Clinton's foreign policy hadn't been so incredibly weak. It's not for no reason Bin Laden decided the US was a "weak horse" and a "paper tiger". Al Queda attacked us several times and the response was always to lob a couple tomahawks into empty training camps. And then to try to "use diplomacy" against a terrorist organization.
Bah! What do you want from a party that claims to be a champion of the first amendment and then threatens to pull ABC's broadcast license if it doesn't toe the Clinton line?

"Earlier today, I ordered America’s armed forces to strike military and security targets in Iraq. They are joined by British forces. Their mission is to attack Iraq’s nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors.
Their purpose is to protect the national interest of the United States, and indeed the interests of people throughout the Middle East and around the world.
Saddam Hussein must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons.
I want to explain why I have decided, with the unanimous recommendation of my national security team, to use force in Iraq; why we have acted now; and what we aim to accomplish. “
Bill Clinton, 1998
Yeah, I thought the air exclusion zone (and sporadic bombing) in Iraq was done on Clinton's watch. I think Nick was not saying Clinton was faultless, but he ain't any worse than Nixon, and lying about an affair is a lot less of a problem to most people than fibbing to start a war. I also think that the smearing of Clinton during his tenure (he killed a guy, whitewater etc) was low-class.
Posted by: bryan at September 10, 2006 05:33 PMWhat is also low class is misrepresenting suborning perjury and perjury as "lying about an affair" and insinuating that the current administration "fib[ed] to start a war."
Posted by: sam at September 11, 2006 09:02 AMSam, Cheney denies it now, but he claimed Saddam and OBL were in bed together (never mind WMDs). Ok it's not in a hearing, but it is lying. Clinton caused zero deaths with his lies, as no troops got deployed because of them. Not very good, but definately not as bad.
