Short list of not-so-random thoughts

1. If you're planning to piss me off, do it this week. It's clearance time over in Karol-land and everything must go.

2. I have found the best crab restaurant in the tri-state area and it happens to be in my area of Brooklyn. The fact that I have never heard of it before, despite going to the movies across the street from it a million times and eating at the lobster place around the corner all summer long, is pretty unbelieveable. Went there the other night with currently blogless Tom Elliott and though it was freezing we sat outside overlooking the bay and shivered while we ate bucket after bucket of crabs. Yum.

3. Why does nearly all the comment spam that I get on this blog get posted on this post? Any idea?

1) Hilary rules. You suck. Baba booey baba booey.

2) Remind me to take you out for some crabs next time you're down here.

3) Maybe it's the sheer quantity of links to A-list bloggers?

Where in Brooklyn are we talking here?

I hear Vincent Gallo is going to write and direct a movie which claims the Bush Administration planned and carried out the 9/11 attacks. And Jarvis Cocker is going to make the soundtrack.

Oh yeah, and when John McCain becomes president, he's going to take away all of Wayne LaPierre's guns. Then he's going to reshape the Republican party in his image -- his glorious maverick image! Bwa ha ha ha ha!!!!

Joe, that's what started my latest crab obsession. I had been wanting to go to Cantler's in Maryland all summer but didn't get a chance so googled for a place in NY and lo and behold, found one in Brooklyn. Oh and Anthony Michael Hall was there when we were there. Random.

Ari, it's in Sheepshead Bay, across from the UA movie theatre and around the corner from Jordan's Lobster Dock. Middle of nowhere, honestly.

Marco, that. was. hilarious.

I was in the Union Square farmer's market yesterday and I saw a stand that had fresh seafood. They had crabs that looked really good, I'm not sure if your into the do it yourself crab project but it might be worth it. I figure if your gonna break laws of Kashrut you might as well do so in the privacy of your own home.

I hear there might be a crab festival in Brooklyn real soon.

Yep, I hear something about Saturday, Dan.

Definitely not into do it yourself. It's messy enough at a restaurant, I don't want it in my home.

There is no good seafood within 50 miles of New York City. NONE.

toby, you're kidding right ?

Where are you from? Washington and Alaska have great seafood but there's some good stuff in the water in these parts too. Not to mention everything that good get's shipped into NYC.

A- to Marco, because he left out the "Six Feet Under: Claire's College Years" reunion special, directed by Michael Moore.

Is it poker spam? Maybe the presence of Ace and Spades in the content brings the spammers.

No, it's a mix of all the usual kinds--sex aids, phone cards, etc.

Very funny, Joe. :-)
