I don't think my grandmother went that far, and she was pretty staunchly conservative.

She was probably one of the few women in Bklyn. who voted against FDR three or four times.

Naming after presidents/first ladies is fairly popular among immigrants. I've known a few Nancy Rodriguez/Hernandez and I have a chinese friend named Nixon.
