Two conversations of the day

Conversation 1:

Me: Dude! Scarlett Johanson had...
Dawn: I know! Two HIV tests!
Me: ...two HIV tests in the last year!
Dawn: I know! What is she sleeping with?

Conversation 2:

Dawn: C'mon, just do it, be nonchalant.
Me: I don't want to be nonchalant! I want to stab him in the head!
Dawn: You've already stabbed him in the head. Now you're throwing him a quarter to call someone who cares.

I never knew that.

I have a sister named after a pivotal character in Gone With The Wind, although my mother and father aren't frustrated stage-parents, so it doesn't seem nearly as crazy in their case.

:-)

At least she's remorseful, kind of, about being a slattern.

Damn Puritans.

She takes two HIV tests a year as a matter of routine. Just as you take a Pap test every year (I hope).

She can do no wrong after she stated that entertainers have no business making political statements in public.

In the beginning they wanted everyone to get an hiv test. Then they didn't want everyone to get hiv tests. Then they wanted everyone to get hiv tests, Then they didn't. Now I hear we are back to everyone should get an hiv test.

Forgot to add. This is what happens when political correctness is treated more importantly than public health concerns. flip flop flip flop flip flop

Two HIV tests a year, when she is living with her boyfriend, is a bit much, no?

Posted by: Karol at October 11, 2006 08:52 PM

That would be enough to get me packing my stuff if I were her boyfriend. Unless, uh, she was getting the tests because of something I did...

Posted by: Eric at October 11, 2006 08:57 PM

Evidently that rule doesn't apply if your boyfriend is Josh Hartnett.

Wasn't he the guy in that horrfically bad "Pearl Harbor" dud?

Conversation of the day:

Max Gross: I have renewed my faith in God.

Tom: Oh?

Max: There's a picture of Scarlett Johanson on Page Six; if that doesn't affirm the existence of a higher power, nothing will.

Tom: Amen. It's as if His divine hand reached down from the skies above to craft a blessed creature for all men to cherish.

It is good to give thanks.

All I'm saying is ... Scarlett Johannsen fucks without a condom. Hot.

Posted by: Joe Grossberg at October 11, 2006 11:13 PM

When I saw "Ghost World" in its theatrical release, I had no idea Scarlett would be the one to blossom into a buxom superstar, whose every tryst would be covered by the gossip columns.

Man, I would have put my money on co-star Thora Birch ! Yum !

Posted by: Bad Boy In A Suit at October 12, 2006 12:23 AM

No, seriously, me too. Who could forsee the awkward blonde girl would be the hot thing?

Posted by: Karol at October 12, 2006 12:28 AM

She's so hot I bet half the women in America would sleep with her too.

Two HIV tests a year, when she is living with her boyfriend, is a bit much, no?

Maybe, he cheated on her? Maybe, a former lover is hiv+ and she had a second test because the antibodies take months to appear?

Posted by: jay at October 12, 2006 09:10 AM

She may also have been required to obtain an hiv test for an insurance policy.

Posted by: jay at October 12, 2006 09:30 AM

Oh man, Jay, you really, really want her to not be trashy. :-)

Posted by: Karol at October 12, 2006 10:15 AM

Maybe, he cheated on her? Maybe, a former lover is hiv+ and she had a second test because the antibodies take months to appear?

She herself said it was about being a "decent human" and suggested that anybody who didn't get tested regularly *wasn't* ... somebody was saying, about political statements?

She tries hard to make monogamy work, per the article I read, but still has herself tested twice a year?

Yeah, put that together without negative implications if you can. :P

Posted by: Anwyn at October 12, 2006 11:49 AM

No, Karol, she doesn't do a thing for me. I've only seen her in the Girl With The Pearl Earring and thought she was a good actress. However, I was more impressed with their recreation of 16th century Holland.

Posted by: jay at October 12, 2006 12:16 PM

Am I, er, the only one curious as to what conversation #2 was about?

Posted by: Anwyn at October 12, 2006 12:39 PM

Am I, er, the only one curious as to what conversation #2 was about?

Haha, apparently!

Posted by: Karol at October 12, 2006 12:43 PM

C'mon, people, a little decent interest in the life of our hostess . o O (back me up, I'm curious even if you aren't ;)

Posted by: Anwyn at October 12, 2006 01:35 PM

Okay, anybody who's been around the block once or twice knows you might not be in a monogamous relationship even if you think you are. Still, an HIV test is kinda like a vote of no confidence, isn't it?

Posted by: Eric at October 12, 2006 06:19 PM

Eric:

Maybe they have an "open relationship".
