What one person calls "reinventing herself," another person may call being insanely popular and successful for 25 years. Not a bad track record...

Yeah, but if the desire to stay popular past a person's ability to produce quality work persists, one gets....

Michael Jackson
Liz Taylor
Liza Minelli
Steven Segal
Fat Elvis
etc.

Of course, there are the rare "full circle" types like William Shatner, but mostly these won't-fade-away celebrities just decompose in the spotlight. (I attribute Shatner's rebound to being something like what happens to milk as it becomes cheese. And of course in his case the analogy seems particularly apt.)

Oh, come on! Only gay men and 8 year old girls are madonna fans. I would be embarassed if I were her. Sure the money is great, but her music sucks and there is no movie she can't tank.
