They can't make them quit?
News from Turtle Bay is that Kofi Annan's team is refusing to depart with their boss at the end of this year.

They can't make them quit, but they can fire their ass. Then, there would be no reason to be in this country and out they go. I think that would be hilarious.
Posted by: jay at October 24, 2006 05:59 PMNo comments on the stay the course, we never were staying the course strategy. Poke fun at Kofi Annan who up until the last 5 years had been doing a bang up job.
It makes me sick to think that Republicans and Democrats are using U.S. soldiers in the combat zone as political pawns.
If I was a Republican I wouldn't poke fun at the leaders of any other political/int. organization because the Republican leadership just short of a disaster.

Someone seems to have missed the Oil-for-Food thing, to name but one small misdeed.

Well, you're not, thank God.
Posted by: jay at October 25, 2006 12:48 PMJay, I say that every day.
People that blindly stick to 1 party regardless of candidates is 100% what's wrong with the Republican party right now.
The Oil for food program was definately a little bit of a disaster but again Kofi Annan was not directly implicated in the abuse but one would have to be ignorant to think he didn't know what was going on. That being said President Bush has been in charge through some of the largest abuses of public money in the history of this country with Iraq and Hurrican Katrina (not to mention Cheaney's boys over at Enron).
If I were a Republican (Yes Jay thank G O D I am not) I wouldn't point the corruption finger at anyone.

Ding ding ding! We have a winner!
Posted by: Joe Grossberg at October 25, 2006 04:31 PMdan T spencer III : Let me get this streight, Chaney ran Enron. I thought he worked at the hated Haliburton Corp. Oh, I get it, you found out that Haliburton is rated as the best of the best defense contractors and won over 90% of their contracts in open bids, if you know what that means. I do, all of the left wing lies about Haliburton really were lies.
Now for Enron and Ken Lay who spent many nights sleeping in the White House with who? I believe , no I know it was Slick Willie. The only thing I don't know is 'was he sleeping with Slick or the Weasel, or both?
dan T spencer III is Another leftie driven insane by BDS. Go check in a mental health facility for a few months. They really can help through daily use of Shock therapy.

Posted by: dan T spencer III at October 26, 2006 03:52 AMHey that wasn't me and I don't appreciate those comments. Very rude and ignorant.
Regarding Cheaney he had secret meetings with the Enron leadership that to this day noone knows what they were about. Right before one of the largest corporate frauds ever unraveled. One could say Cheaney knew about Enron corruption like Kofi knew about oil-for food corruption.
I wasn't even going to bring Halliburton's Iraq contracts and spending into the discussion.
I'm not a lefty by any means but I'm certainly not in the "everything is awesome and fuck you if you disagree" camp.
