One More Time
A final reminder:
I'm performing tonight at 6:30, ACTORS PLAYHOUSE, 100 Seventh Avenue South, between Christopher & Bleecker Streets. The show is called News To Me and will feature performances by a bi-partisan group of people. I believe it's just myself and Evan Coyne Maloney representing the right side of the political aisle.
My piece is using hip-hop lyrics (played on a cd, people, no I'm not rapping) to describe the current political situation.
I'm very, very nervous. Very.
UPDATE: I think it went pretty well. I'll write more about it tomorrow. Thanks to everyone that came out (and thanks for that drink, Tatyana)
A slightly blurry but cool picture from the show:

Break a leg!
Posted by: James Young at November 20, 2006 02:00 PMI'll sit up front, just picture me in my underwear:)
Posted by: Lisa at November 20, 2006 02:01 PMYes! Break a leg...but do not picture me in my underwear. I don't think of you that way.
Posted by: Not Dawn Summers at November 20, 2006 02:09 PMWhen you get on stage, it's best not to inform the audience that you might be nervous, otherwise, the audience will subconsciously focus on your 'nervousness,' rather than your wisdom.
Posted by: BadBoyInASuit at November 20, 2006 02:58 PMBBIAS is right,
Suddenly all I can think about it how nervous you are!
Soooo nervous.
Posted by: Not Dawn Summers at November 20, 2006 03:04 PMIf you get heckled, don't pull a Michael Richards.
Posted by: Joe Grossberg at November 20, 2006 03:08 PMWhat will you do - play Vanilla Ice kareoke music along with Hitler's Nuremberg Rally?
That's all KKKonservatism is!
Posted by: BigBadBarry at November 20, 2006 03:35 PMGood luck, Karol!
Just think of this as another opportunity to showcase your rhetorical skill.
I'm sure you'll do marvelous.
:)
-good times, G.J.P. (Jr.)
Whatever the outcome, roses or rotten tomatoes, remember: I'm buying you a drink.
Posted by: Tatyana at November 20, 2006 04:29 PMI'm sad I can't be there. next time i guess. Break a leg!
Posted by: Petitedov at November 20, 2006 04:53 PMSee?
Free alcohol.
Yet another inducement to enter the world of the performing arts.
Posted by: Gerard at November 20, 2006 05:00 PMOh break a leg Karol, I'm sure you'll dazzle them :-) x Steff

Posted by: Anwyn at November 20, 2006 06:25 PMSo, how is our little girl doing? How come this isn't being live blogged?
Posted by: jay at November 20, 2006 08:28 PMJay, she was spectacular (and very real, that goes w/o saying)!
Only one timid Democratic question from the audience, "what Republicans think of introducing public funding for the election?"
Otherwise they were speechless.
glad to hear all went well Karol! i'm sure you'll tell us all about it tommorrow!
Posted by: sara at November 20, 2006 11:30 PMBarry,
You don't have an ounce of class, even for a troll.

Uh yeah - what Karol isn't telling her readers is that her piece won the best out of four.
Now that's our girl.

See?
Nothing to be nervous about.

Posted by: Gerard at November 21, 2006 02:03 AMKarol, it was my pleasure.
I loved the host's question, re: who da hip-hop voted for; mostly for your answer, of course.
I should've asked you to autograph my program; in 10 yrs it'd cost a fortune!
