What liberal media?
The Associated Press pens a love letter to army deserters in the form of "news".

Within days, Patrick Hart was listed as AWOL from the Army. Jill, . . . was told the Army would stop health benefits for her epileptic son, then 3. The threat was supposed to convince Patrick Hart to reconsider. It convinced Jill Hart her husband was on to something.
Not a threat -- a fact. Did she really expect the army to continue paying benefits to the family even though he deserted? Is she on crack?
Posted by: jay at November 27, 2006 11:28 AMWell at least now they live in a country with the World's Greatest Healthcare System.
Posted by: Marco at November 27, 2006 11:39 AMYeah, I'll tell that to my canadian friends that have to wait months and months to get what are considered routine tests and operations here -- whether you have insurance or not.
One of the reasons these countries can even afford their substandard socialist healthcare stystem is because the US picks up the tab for R&D on drugs, healthcare, etc.

And the AP treats him as some kind of hero.
Posted by: Mark Poling at November 27, 2006 05:20 PMIt's always a shame to see kids suffer because of parental screwups, although I guess that's part of the human condition.
Posted by: Mark Poling at November 28, 2006 12:29 PMI wouldn't assume he was surffering unless his parents are refusing to obtain healthcare for him.
The mother's argument that they were in some way still eligible for insurance as dependents of a deserter is just plain bizarre. And I don't believe for a minute that she didn't know her husband was going to desert.
We heard all during the Iraq War that the liberal media would not report the good news in Iraq. It was not that bad, we were told by the right. OK. So Bush meets the Iraq PM in JORDAN. Kofi wont go to Iraq. AHA!!! AHA!!! AHA!!! The lie is now exposed. They know better than to let Bush go inside Iraq. You can expose right wing lies if you are patient. Gotttcha! benmatheny@hotmail.com
Leave it to the sewer rats at AP to be as dirty and rotten as its wants to be
