Interlude

I am obsessed with four songs from the new Jay-Z "Kingdom Come" album. They are: "Beach Chair", "Trouble", "Do you wanna ride" and "Lost Ones".

I am considerably less in love with the new Nas album, though "Hip-Hop is Dead" is pretty phenomenal and "Black Republican" is great (though it's Jay-Z that makes this song).

Since it's an interlude I guess I can go off-topic:
when are you planning the next 'conservative drinking bash'? Some time at the end of the month?

and the 'right events' still says "December"...is there anything upcoming in Jan?

Well, if you do a "Conservative Drinking Bash" you got to get rid of your damn Jay-Z fixation and start listening to some good ole' Jimy Buffett!

Ban Jay-Z and Nas, they suck. After all, censorship is becoming America's favorite past-time. The US gov't (and their corporate friends), already detain protesters, ban books like "America Deceived" America Deceived (book) from Amazon and Wikipedia, and fire 21-year tenured, BYU physics professor Steven Jones because he proved explosives, thermite in particular, took down the WTC buildings. In fact, get rid of all rap.

Gregg, I'm not sure what's more absurd about your post -- the conspiracy theorist rantings or the desire to eliminate rap. Heck, I have yet to find a country music song I like but to go so far as to advocate eliminating it? Hmm...sounds a little shady. Dislike blacks much?

Ah, and on topic for Karol:

Even as a bigger Jay-Z fan than I am a Nas one, I have to go with "Hip Hop is Dead" as the superior effort. And for some reason, I can't stand "Beach Chair." Great idea for a collabo, but I'm just not feeling it. "Trouble" is a great track though.

Talib Kweli's free release "Liberation" (see his myspace page for to dL) is getting the most burn on my iPod these days.
