Why not?
Someone provide Russia with a short list of reasons "why not":
Russia has delivered new anti-aircraft missile systems to Iran and will consider further requests by Tehran for defensive weapons, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said on Tuesday.Posted by Karol at January 16, 2007 02:38 PM | TrackBack"We have supplied the modern short-range anti-aircraft systems TOR-M1 in accordance with our contracts," Ivanov told reporters. "Iran is not under sanctions and if it wants to buy defensive ... equipment for its armed forces then why not?"

Until they can detect Stealth fighters, this is a moot point.
Plus, they are going to have to buy a whole lot of missile systems to make a strategic difference. Right now, they probably couldn't defend Teheran from an attack of Africanized Killer Bees.

With only a 6000 meter ceiling, this won't do anything if we decide to hit them since we can just drop GPS guided bombs from above 6000 meters.

Posted by: Scrapiron at January 17, 2007 12:50 AMI disagree with you, Scrapiron...I think we should have just nooked the place back in the day. Serious, we should just go over there and drop a few bombs to get the point across. Nuff said. I say we hit Moscow first.
