Conversation 1:
Peter: Hey, good morning, have you been online yet today?
Me: No, just woke up.
Peter: Oh, so you haven't heard about the press conference Fred Thompson is having tomorrow?
Me: NO! Is he going to announce? Is he, is he, is he?
Peter: Oh man, no, I was just playing an April Fool's joke but I couldn't go through with it once I heard the excitement in your voice.
Conversation 2, 10 minutes later:
Ronnie: Did you hear what happened with Axl Rose?
Me: No, what happened?
Ronnie: He got shot!
Me: NO! What? Oh, wait, is this April Fool's?
Ronnie: Haha.
Me, glaring: Mmm.
In my defense, I had yet to drink coffee which is the morning kick-start for my brain.

The only funny April Fool's joke I've heard today came from-ironically enough-NPR.
