An Update on the Way of the Cross (By Guest Blogger John Budnick)
I have fixed the link below to God in the Streets of New York. Also Geoff has sent me pictures from the Way of the Cross. Goeff is the one carrying the cross. These pictures show only about half of the group.
We first gathered at Old St. Patrick's in SoHo, which had been the Cathedral before the current one across from Rockefeller Center was dedicated. It was beautiful to see so many twenty and thirty-somethings gathered to share in Christ's passion.
When we left, we split into two groups. One group went north and our group... I'm not sure which direction our group went since I don't know SoHo very well. I was just trying to keep up with the procession. Whichever direction we took, apparently it wasn't north.
Our group ended our procession at St. Stanislaw's Church in front of a statue of John Paul the Great. Even after his passing, he still has the ability to draw young people to Christ. Next year, make sure this is part of your celebration of the Triduum. I know that it is on mine.
